Packers WR Geronimo Allison (hamstring) was held out of Thursday's practice.

Jan 19 - 2:20 PM

Speaking Thursday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said injured receivers Davante Adams (ankle), Jordy Nelson (ribs) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) probably wouldn't play Sunday if it were the regular season.

Neither Adams nor Allison practiced on Thursday, and aren't expected to do so until Saturday's walk-through. McCarthy's comments indicated all three players will play, but none of them are anywhere close to 100 percent. It could be a problem in a game where the Pack will have to score all afternoon to keep up. Randall Cobb is shaping up as a nice DFS play. Trevor Davis and Jeff Janis are going to have to play increased snaps.

Jets owner Woody Johnson is expected to be named the United States' new ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Johnson, who struggles to run a football team, is undoubtedly extremely qualified to be an ambassador to one of America's most important allies. The move could be a boon for Jets fans, as Johnson will have less time to meddle with his team. Johnson will presumably have to take off his ever-present Jets ball cap for his ambassador business.

Julio Jones (toe) remained sidelined Thursday, but insisted he'll be ready for Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

Jones probably won't practice Friday, either, but there's no question he'll be out there against the Packers. The question is how effective he will be after aggravating his toe injury last Saturday.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Seahawks could be docked a second-round pick for failing to disclose Richard Sherman's MCL injury.

Yikes. Coach Pete Carroll has to be regretting trying to explain away Sherman's (slightly) down 2016 right about now. What the Seahawks did is blatantly against the rules, but a second-rounder would be an extraordinarily severe punishment. The Seahawks are no strangers to pushing boundaries, but there's not a team in the league that doesn't play injury report games. The Seahawks are already missing a 2017 fifth-rounder for illegal offseason practice activity.

Titans DC Dick LeBeau confirmed he will return for the 2017 season.

"The only question in my mind was from the standpoint that somebody’s got to want you to work," LeBeau said. "When [coach Mike Mularkey] said he wanted me to stay, there was no doubt." LeBeau will turn 80 in September, but he remains one of the top defensive minds in the game. If GM Jon Robinson can get him some help in the secondary, the Titans should take a step forward on defense in 2017.

Joe Flacco said he is happy the Ravens retained OC Marty Mornhinweg.

Flacco said the offense was too "conservative" in November, but it does not sound like he puts all of the blame at Mornhinweg's feet. "I think the other thing you have to realize is that a lot of what we’ve been doing isn’t necessarily his offense," Flacco said. "I think this offseason will be a big point for him to get a lot of the stuff that he’s comfortable running. He and I can work through that stuff together. I think that’s the biggest thing." The Ravens need to improve the running game and find playmakers which allow them to be more aggressive in the passing game, but Flacco also needs to play better for the offense to take a step forward next season.

Raiders RT Austin Howard underwent shoulder surgery on Wednesday.

Howard injured his shoulder in training camp and was hampered by it all season. He was also limited by an ankle injury for much of the year, and both of those issues likely contributed to his down season. There is no timetable for his return.
