Rangers third base prospect Ryan Rua went 3-for-4 with two home runs for Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Rua has spent roughly one-third of his games in left field since being promoted to Triple-A, possibly as reaction to the Joey Gallo's breakout season. Rua has held his own, hitting .296/.348/.531 over 21 games in the Pacific Coast League since his promotion. Rua has not been able to replicate the 32 home runs he hit in 2013, but his combined line of .299/.369/.488 is better than his .247/.347/.525 line from 2013.

Jason Marquis has been placed on the disabled list at Triple-A Lehigh Valley due to a strained right oblique.

Marquis' contract included an opt-out on July 31, but the injury figures to keep him around for a little while longer. The 35-year-old right-hander has a 2.22 ERA over his first four starts in Triple-A.

Yankees acquired 3B Chase Headley and cash considerations from the Padres for INF Yangervis Solarte and RHP Rafael De Paula.

The deal is now official. Headley's stock has plummeted since his breakout season in 2012, but he's a worthwhile gamble for the Yankees given their current options at third base. The 30-year-old has swung the bat better of late and has good road numbers for his career, so it would be no surprise if he finishes his walk year on a high note.

Padres acquired INF Yangervis Solarte and RHP Rafael De Paula from the Yankees for 3B Chase Headley and cash considerations.

The Yankees picked Solarte up for nothing over the winter and managed to turn him into an upgrade at third base. Pretty nice work by GM Brian Cashman. For San Diego, this was mostly about getting anything for Headley, who will be a free agent after the season. A qualifying offer wasn't a realistic option, as he likely would have accepted a one-year deal in the range of $15 million. Solarte could see some time at third base down the stretch in San Diego, but his days of fantasy relevancy are likely already behind him.

Padres acquired RHP Rafael De Paula from the Yankees in the Chase Headley deal.

The Padres also acquired Yangervis Solarte, but De Paula is the most intriguing piece. The 23-year-old owns a 4.15 ERA and 104/38 K/BB ratio over 89 innings this season with High-A Tampa. He has a big arm and has struggled with his control at times, so some believe he could end up in the bullpen in the long-term.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees have dealt pitching prospect Rafael DePaula to the Padres as part of the Chase Headley trade.

DePaula has as good fastball and slider, but has poor command and a well below-average change-up. The Yankees have been developing the 23-year old Dominican as a starter, and the Padres will likely continue to do so, though his poor command and solid two-pitch mix could turn him into another solid relief option for the Padres.

Rays prospect Tim Beckham went 3-for-4 with a triple for rookie-level GCL Rays on Monday.

Beckham tore his ACL in December and has been working his way back since then. He was viewed as a potential five-tool talent when drafted first overall in 2008, but has struggled to live up to his lofty draft status and has turned into a potential utility infiedler with some pop. Beckham may return to the major leagues in September.

Giants prospect shortstop Christian Arroyo went 3-for-5 for short season-A Salem-Keizer on Monday, raising his season line to .307/.364/.421.

Arroyo struggled to start the season in the Low-A South Atlantic League, but has done much better in the more-age appropriate Northwest League. Arroyo projects as an above-average defensive shortstop who hits near the league average, though his long-term defensive home remains up in the air.
