Stephen Strasburg exited Tuesday's game against the Marlins with an apparent injury.

Josh Johnson (elbow) reported that he had felt tightness in his triceps after throwing a simulated game a week ago.

Hedges will catch Ian Kennedy. One of the top catching prospects in the game, he has made a reputation on his defense. With a career line of .256/.316/.390 in the minors, you shouldn't expect a ton from his bat, especially at this stage in his major league career.
According to Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago, Jeff Samardzija plans on dropping the appeal of his suspension.
Samardzija, among many others, was suspended for his role in an April 23 bench-clearing fracas with the Royals. The White Sox have not yet announced what they would do with their rotation if Samardzija dropped the suspension.

Cubs designated RHP Blake Parker for assignment.
Parker's being DFA'ed to make room for James Russell. The 29-year-old Parker posted a 5.14 ERA and 24/4 K/BB ratio over 21 innings last season. He has a chance to pass through waivers.
