Matt Adams is not in the Cardinals' lineup Wednesday.

Mark Reynolds is starting at first base and batting cleanup against Cubs left-hander Jon Lester. It's become a typical look for St. Louis against tough lefties.

Drew Storen nailed down his eighth save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's win over the Marlins.

It got a little hairy at the beginning of the frame, as Storen hit a batter and then allowed a single. He rebounded, though, inducing a flyout from Martin Prado before striking out both Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna swinging. Storen has converted eight of nine save chances and boasts a 1.00 ERA.

Jon Jay is not in the Cardinals' lineup Wednesday.

He'll take a seat with the Cubs throwing lefty Jon Lester. Peter Bourjos is in center and leading off.

Rays prospect Casey Gillaspie corked two homers Tuesday in a win for Low-A Bowling Green.

He matched a season-high with four RBI. Gillaspie's bat has been quiet at times this year (.238 average), but his power remains a constant. This is only his second season in the minors after being drafted in the first-round last year. It won't be long before Gillaspie joins his brother Conor in the big leagues.

Leonys Martin (wrist) is out of the Rangers' starting lineup again on Wednesday night.

Martin hasn't played since injuring his left wrist while trying to make a catch on Monday night. He was wearing a brace Tuesday but X-rays turned up negative and he is expected to avoid the disabled list. Delino DeShields Jr. is starting in center field Wednesday.

Tom Koehler was touched up for five runs across six innings in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals.

Bryce Harper was Koehler's nemesis, as the outfielder took him deep three times on the day. Koehler allowed seven hits overall, struck out five and walked one. The right-hander has been quite inconsistent this season and now sports a 5.18 ERA. He'll try to get back on track next week versus the Dodgers.
May 6 - 4:00 PM

Bryce Harper launched three home runs and drove in five in Wednesday's victory over the Marlins.

All three dingers came off of Tom Koehler, as he went opposite-field in the second before then hitting monster shots into the right-field upper deck in the third and fifth. Harper came up in the seventh with a chance for a fourth home run but had to settle for an RBI groundout. The 22-year-old now has eight home runs and 20 RBI on the season to go along with a .265/.416/.561 batting line.
May 6 - 3:57 PM

Giancarlo Stanton ripped a three-run homer in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals.

He won a battle with Max Scherzer in the eighth inning, sending a pitch well over the left-field wall for his seventh longball of the season. It was Stanton's lone hit in five trips to the plate, but fantasy owners probably aren't complaining. Stanton has driven in 27 this year.
