Hamilton didn't start because of a mild hamstring injury. He's still day-to-day.
Brandon Phillips will undergo left thumb surgery and is expected to miss around six weeks.
Brett Gardner (abdominal strain) is back in Thursday's lineup against the Indians.
Gardner was held out of Wednesday's lineup with a lower abdominal strain, but he apparently feels well enough to give it a go Thursday. The Yankees need some good news right now and this certainly qualifies.
Ryan Ludwick went 3-for-6 with a solo homer and two RBI against the Cubs on Thursday.
The homer was Ludwick's first in a month. He's been a part-time player of late, but not all that bad of one. Interestingly, he's hitting .383 and slugging .568 in 81 at-bats in day games this year, compared to .191 with a .301 slugging percentage in 136 at-bats in night games.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that Bud Norris is not an option to start on short rest Sunday against the Yankees.
Showalter previously floated the idea after Norris threw just four innings on Wednesday, but that's no longer an option. However, it's possible he could be available in relief.

Rucinski, 25, has posted a solid 2.35 ERA and 85/28 K/BB ratio in 95 2/3 innings over 17 starts this season in Double-A. The Angels will likely use him in long relief for his first taste of the majors.
Angels recalled RHP Cory Rasmus from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Rasmus has posted a 3.00 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 15 innings with the Angels this season. He figures to be utilized in middle relief.
Angels optioned RHP Cam Bedrosian to Double-A Arkansas.
Bedrosian just returned to the Angels on Tuesday and made two scoreless appearances during his brief time with the club. The 22-year-old figures to get another shot before long.
