Texans ILB Brian Cushing (knee) practiced again on Thursday.

Cushing was expected to miss six weeks with a torn MCL, but the Texans are hopeful he can return after just two games. Even if he sits out again this Sunday, it is clear he will beat his initial timetable. With J.J. Watt (back) out for likely the season, the Texans need all hands on deck.

Browns CB Joe Haden (groin) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Haden was inactive Week 3 after suffering a groin injury last Thursday. He was close to playing against the Dolphins, and this limited practice puts him on track to return this week.

Lions WLB DeAndre Levy (quad) did not practice Wednesday.

Neither did DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle). Levy has a better chance than Ansah to play against the Bears, but both are expected to miss. Chicago's offense has struggled, but they have a great matchup this week against a banged up defense.

Giants S Nat Berhe has been placed in the concussion protocol.

He complained of a headache and not feeling well on Wednesday. With Berhe likely to miss this week and Darian Thompson out with a foot injury, the Giants are incredibly thin at safety. CB Leon Hall should see some time there this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) and Jacoby Brissett (thumb) both were at practice Thursday.

Both were limited on Wednesday. It was just a walkthrough, but it is looking more and more likely Garoppolo will play Sunday. He will be a solid streaming option at home against the Bills.

Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter said Golden Tate will see more targets moving forward.

Targets are not really the problem for Tate, who is on pace for 117 through three games. The problem is he is averaging just 7.2 yards per reception a season after gaining just nine yards per catch. Tate has the after-catch skills to break a couple big plays, but his usage limits his yardage upside. Marvin Jones will remain the clear No. 1 in Detroit.

Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter said Dwayne Washington is "building confidence" with the coaching staff.

Beat reporters have been talking all week about Washington seeing more carries, and now his coordinator says he is building confidence. All signs are pointing to Washington having a bigger role after outplaying Theo Riddick last week. He is a great upside play in a plus matchup against the Bears.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Dez Bryant (knee) will not practice Thursday.

It is not surprising. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has said Bryant is a "long-shot" to play against the 49ers, and he could be looking at a multi-week absence. Cole Beasley and Brice Butler are interesting names in deep leagues.
