Packers RT Bryan Bulaga (concussion) has been upgraded to probable for Week 16 against the Buccaneers.

This likely means Bulaga has passed the final hurdle in the NFL's concussion protocol. He will start against Tampa Bay.
Dec 20 - 10:41 AM

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he is "very confident" Cam Newton (back, probable) will start Week 16 against the Browns.

In coach speak that is a veritable guarantee. Newton practiced all week and is a lock to start against Cleveland. Newton played his best game of the season Week 14 before injuring his back, and has QB1 upside even in a tough matchup.

Pro Football Talk reports Julio Jones' (hip, questionable) availability for Week 16 against the Saints hinges on a pre-game workout.

Jones went through the same routine last week before ultimately being ruled out, but the mood surrounding Jones this week is far more optimistic. Despite not practicing at all this week, ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure said Jones "definitely will play." Jones' status will not be known officially until Sunday morning, but it appears he has a real shot to play against New Orleans.
Dec 20 - 10:12 AM

Redskins ILB Keenan Robinson (knee) is listed at doubtful for Week 16 against the Eagles.

Robinson has been sidelined since Week 13 with a sprained MCL. He got in limited practices all week, but will likely miss his third straight game. Robinson's replacement Will Compton has struggled in pass coverage since taking over.
Dec 20 - 9:54 AM

Redskins RE Jason Hatcher (knee) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Eagles.

Hatcher is battling a knee injury that also sidelined him for Week 15. He did not practice all week, and could conceivably be finished for the season. The 32-year-old Hatcher has played well in a limited role this season, notching eight sacks and 26 hurries across 518 snaps.
Dec 20 - 9:50 AM

LeSean McCoy's role in the Eagles' red-zone offense has declined in the last eight games.

McCoy opened the season as the primary back in the red zone. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane, he was on the field for 77 percent of the red-zone plays through the first six games of the season and saw 74 percent of the running back touches. Those numbers have decreased to 65 percent and 64 percent respectively, and should continue to fall as Chris Polk continues to convert goal-line chances. With Polk vulturing touchdowns and Darren Sproles vulturing pass-game work, McCoy is more of an RB2 Week 16 against a stingy Washington rush defense.
Dec 20 - 9:31 AM

Lions OC Joe Lombardi conceded Joique Bell is the team's No. 1 running back, ahead of Reggie Bush.

It would be difficult to claim anything else. Bell has 33 carries to Bush's 11 over the last two weeks and has out-touched Bush 42-16 over that span. Bell has at least 10 carries in 12-of-13 games this season. Bush has managed that feat just twice. Bell is the clear lead back and is a good bet for 20 touches against a leaky Bears' defense. He is a solid RB2 in championship week.
Dec 20 - 9:19 AM

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure expects Julio Jones (hip) to play in Sunday's game at New Orleans.

Jones remains a game-time call after not practicing at all the last two weeks. But the Falcons are in a must-win spot and obviously need their most talented offensive weapon. Here's the full report from McClure: "From all the information I've gathered, Jones definitely will play against the Saints. And it's not as if the Falcons will have him on the field just as a decoy. They need Jones in this desperation game, so I suspect he will get plenty of opportunities." We'll have more information by Sunday morning at the absolute latest.
