Orioles placed INF Jonathan Schoop on the 15-day disabled list with a Grade 1 PCL in his left knee.

Schoop also has a sprained MCL. He sustained the injury in Friday's game from a hard slide by Pablo Sandoval at second base. The O's are encouraged that there was no damage to his ACL and are optimistic that he'll be able to return before the end of the regular season.

Jonathan Schoop is heading to the disabled list after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 PCL tear and MCL sprain.

Schoop was the victim of a hard slide into second base by Pablo Sandoval during Friday's game and was spotted limping around the clubhouse on Saturday. It's a tough blow for the Orioles and for fantasy owners of the young infielder. O's manager Buck Showalter expects him to return before the end of the season, though there is no clear timetable at the moment.

Mookie Betts is not in the Red Sox starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles.

Just a routine day off for the budding young superstar who went hitless in Friday's game against the O's. Brock Holt is drawing the start in his place in center field and will hit leadoff for the Red Sox on Saturday.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Saturday that Michael Cuddyer will rest one game over the weekend.

The Mets want to ensure that Cuddyer remains healthy through the grind of the MLB season, so they'll give him plenty of rest as needed throughout the year. Make sure to check lineups where daily changes are allowed, as he'll sit on Sunday if he's in there on Saturday.

Yunel Escobar (groin) will undergo an MRI on Saturday.

Escobar said that he felt okay on Saturday and remains optimistic that he'll be able to avoid a trip to the disabled list, but the Nationals want to make sure before making a determination.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Angels and Josh Hamilton are in talks to resolve their dispute.

The two sides are reportedly exploring multiple avenues that include trades, though nothing is believed to be close. Hamilton meanwhile continues to rehab his shoulder and isn't expected to return to the diamond until sometime in May.

Kolten Wong is not in the Cardinals starting lineup on Saturday.

It's nothing more than a day of rest for Wong who should be back in there for Sunday's series finale. Pete Kozma will make his first start of the season in his place and will bat eighth against opposing right-hander Homer Bailey.

Derek Norris is not in the Padres starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Cubs.

It's a routine day of rest for Norris being a day game after a night game, but it's also noteworthy that it will be the second straight time that Will Nieves has caught for Tyson Ross. Expect to see Norris back in there on Sunday.
