Broncos signed WR Kenny Bell to a reserve/future contract.

A fifth-round pick by the Bucs in 2015, Bell was a favorite of the draft community, but he missed his rookie season with a hamstring injury and failed to make the roster as a sophomore. Bell is a good dart throw for the Broncos, but he is a long-shot to stick on the roster.

Leonard Fournette (ankle) is expected to practice Thursday.

Fournette was limited on Wednesday, and it is likely he will be again today. That said, even two limited practices to start the week is a good sign he will ready to face the Patriots on Sunday. Fournette struggled after aggravating the injury against the Steelers.

Jaguars FS Tashaun Gipson (foot) is not expected to practice Thursday.

It is his second missed practice in a row. Gipson expects to play, but he likely needs to get in some work on Friday to make that happen. Jarrod Wilson will fill in if Gipson is forced to sit.

Luke Kuechly will not attend the Pro Bowl because of an undisclosed injury.

This is normal operating procedure for the top players in the league, and the Charlotte Observer reports the "injury" is not serious. Kuechly should be fine for the offseason program.

The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports Jets QBs coach Jeremy Bates is a "strong candidate" to replace ex-OC John Morton.

Despite a relatively successful season considering the talent, Morton was fired because of locker-room issues. Bates reportedly "had a significant role" in game-planning under Morton, so he could bring continuity without the off-field concerns. Mehta listed ex-Broncos OC Mike McCoy, Eagles QBs coach John DeFilippo, ex-Steelers OC Todd Haley, and Lions QBs coach Brian Callahan as external options.

Browns LT Joe Thomas (triceps) expects to be cleared by July.

That means he should be ready for training camp if he decides to return for his 12th season, something the tackle says is still up in the air. "Had a lot of time to think and spend some time with the family, but not ready definitively to make a decision one way or the other just yet," Thomas said. "I think there are some days you go back and forth." Thomas added the triceps injury will not play a big role in his decision, but lingering back and knee issues could cause him to call it quits. Despite last year's struggles on offense, the Browns have the makings of a top-shelf offensive line, but the unit would take a massive hit if Thomas decides to hang 'em up.

TMZ Sports reports Emmanuel Sanders will not face charges stemming from a sexual assault case in Texas.

There is not much known about the case. TMZ reports felony 2 sexual assault accusations were brought against Sanders, but a grand jury "failed to find a bill of indictment" earlier this month, meaning there was not enough evidence to bring charges. Sanders appears to be in the clear legally, but the NFL is sure to investigate and could hand down a suspension.

Seahawks DE Cliff Avril said he "definitely" thinks he will be able to play again but is "okay" if it does not happen.

After the season, coach Pete Carroll said Avril will "have a hard time" getting cleared to play again, but the player is cautiously optimistic. Still, playing football again is not his top priority. "I just want to get back to being able to move around and hopefully be able to get outside and play basketball with my kids," Avril said. "I definitely think I can get back on the field. If it’s possible, I will. But if not, I’m OK with that." Avril will turn 32 in April.
