Brad Peacock will start Monday against the Twins.

For now it appears Peacock has supplanted Mike Fiers in the starting rotation. Peacock impressed in a spot start last week, holding the Orioles to one hit over 4 1/3 shutout innings. The right-hander carries a 4.31 ERA over 47 big league starts.

Zack Greinke allowed five runs over 5 1/3 innings in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

As he has in each of his last six starts, Greinke yielded a longball among his five hits allowed. He also walked two and struck out six in the outing. The loss was his third this year and his first in over a month, dropping him to 6-3 with a 3.24 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 84/14 K/BB ratio over 72 1/3 innings overall. Greinke will try to rebound Thursday against the Marlins.

Clayton Richard turned in a quality start but was saddled with a loss to the Nationals on Saturday.

He gave up three runs in six innings but saw his offense get shut out by Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals' bullpen. Richard gave up 10 base hits, including a two-run homer by Michael Taylor in the sixth inning. He falls to 3-6 with a mediocre 4.33 ERA and even worse 1.43 WHIP. He has 50 strikeouts in 68 2/3 innings spread over 11 starts.

According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, Tyler Pill is the "frontrunner" to start Tuesday against the Brewers.

May 27 - 7:56 PM

Eric Sogard went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Sogard drew the start at the keystone in place of Jonathan Villar, also batting at the top of the lineup, and he delivered with a pair of hits, including a double and an RBI single. He's proven to be a more-than-capable utility man for the Brewers since being promoted on May 12, hitting .419/.550/.742 in 13 games. Despite his good start, the 31-year-old is nothing more than a part-time player unless an injury occurs, and even then, he's probably not a fantasy consideration.

Conor Gillaspie (back) underwent an MRI on Saturday after suffering a setback during his minor league rehab assignment.

May 27 - 7:53 PM

Hunter Pence (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday or Thursday.

May 27 - 7:52 PM

Hector Neris snared a win by tossing a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Reds.

Neris was brought in to pitch the top of the ninth in a tie game. He issued one base-on-balls and struck out two batters. The Phillies scored a run in the bottom of the inning to credit Neris with his second win of the season. The Phillies' primary closer has four saves with a 3.09 ERA in 22 games. He has 24 strikeouts and six walks in 23 1/3 innings.
