Tyler Matzek exited Monday's start against the Diamondbacks with an apparent injury.

Matzek signaled for the Rockies' trainer to come to the mound after he delivered his first pitch of the sixth inning and then eventually walked off the field. He appeared to be favoring his leg, but we'll have to wait and see what the Rockies say about the injury. Matzek allowed two runs over five frames before exiting.

Joakim Soria worked around a leadoff single to earn his eighth save of the season, helping the Tigers take down the Twins 5-4 on Monday.

Jordan Schafer led off with a single to left-center, then moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt. Soria, however, bounced back to strike out Brian Dozier and induce a game-ending 5-3 ground out from Torii Hunter to end the contest. Soria is 8-for-8 in save chances with a 1.86 ERA and a 6/1 K/BB ratio in 9 2/3 innings.

Tommy Milone allowed five runs in four innings of work Monday, resulting in a loss against the Tigers.

Four of those runs came in the first inning, as Jose Iglesias hit a solo home run and Yoenis Cespedes hit a three-run round-tripper. From there, he was able to settle down for the most part. He allowed back-to-back singles in the fifth inning before departing in favor of reliever Tim Stauffer. Stauffer allowed one of his inherited runners to score on a sacrifice fly. All told, Milone gave up eight hits, walked two, and struck out two. The lefty has a 4.76 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 13/11 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings. He'll look for better results when he takes on the White Sox at home next.

David Price picked up his second win of the season, allowing three runs in 6 1/3 innings versus the Twins on Monday.

It was, at least, an improvement over the shellacking Price took against the Yankees on Wednesday. The Twins were only able to pick up a run here and there, scoring once in the first, fifth, and seventh innings. The lefty gave up six hits, walked two, and struck out seven on the evening. Price will bring a 3.48 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 29/10 K/BB ratio over 31 innings into a weekend start in Kansas City against the Royals.

Jose Iglesias went 3-for-5 with a triple and a solo home run as the Tigers narrowly beat the Twins on Monday.

Iglesias sent a Tommy Milone offering over the fence in left field in the first inning to give the Tigers an early 1-0 lead. He also tripled to lead off the seventh inning but was stranded. Though his numbers had been tapering off recently, Iglesias maintains a superb .397/.449/.540 triple-slash line with one home run, three RBI, and five stolen bases.

Yoenis Cespedes doubled and hit a three-run home run in four at-bats as the Tigers edged the Twins on Monday.

Cespedes pushed the Tigers' lead to 4-0 in the first inning with a three-run blast to left-center off of Tommy Milone. The Cuban slugger had been in a bit of a rut, going 2-for-13 over his previous four games. Cespedes now has four home runs and 16 RBI along with a .303/.325/.566 triple-slash line on the season.
Apr 27 - 11:33 PM

Carl Crawford left Monday's game against the Giants with an apparent injury.

Crawford appeared to be in bit of pain after legging out a triple in the second inning. He initially remained in the game but was eventually pulled after scoring following a single in the third. The Dodgers should provide an update on his status shortly.

Carlos Ruiz had a perfect night at the plate, finishing 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored as the Phillies won 4-1 against the Cardinals on Monday.

Ruiz had been in a two-week-long funk, batting 4-for-33 (.121) dating back to April 13. The catcher singled and scored in the seventh, then doubled and scored in the ninth. Ruiz, 36, has the most fantasy value in two-catcher leagues that use on-base percentage, but that isn't saying much.
