Pirates outfield prospect Josh Bell delivered four hits in Sunday's win for Double-A Altoona

All of his hits were singles. The 22-year-old is now second in the Eastern League in batting average (.338), fourth in RBI (29), seventh in walks (21) and third in on base percentage (.412). Bell has shown remarkable consistency all season, batting .325 in May after hitting an even more robust .352 in April. He's struck out just 14 times in 151 at-bats. Altoona fans should get to the park soon because Bell won't be in Double-A for much longer.

Sean Doolittle (shoulder) is expected to return from the disabled list on Tuesday.

Doolittle has spent the first two months of the 2015 regular season rehabbing a slight tear in his left rotator cuff. He allowed five runs in five innings on his rehab assignment, so the A's will likely ease him back into high-leverage situations. The 28-year-old southpaw should eventually take over for Tyler Clippard at closer.

Blue Jays activated SS Jose Reyes from the 15-day disabled list.

Reyes is back with the Jays after missing four weeks with a cracked rib. He went 4-for-11 with two RBI on a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Buffalo and should be activated immediately in fantasy leagues. The veteran shortstop was batting just .250/.266/.300 in 16 games before the injury, but he can get it going in a hurry.

Blue Jays optioned INF Munenori Kawasaki to Triple-A Buffalo.

Kawasaki was in the majors for less than a week. His roster spot will be filled by shortstop Jose Reyes, who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move.

Jon Jay (wrist) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday with Low-A Peoria.

Jay is eligible to return from the disabled list on Tuesday, but the Cardinals have been getting great production from Peter Bourjos and Randal Grichuk so they'll let Jay get his timing right with some minor league at-bats. Jay should return to St. Louis' active roster around the end of this week. He's been out since May 10 with tendinitis in his surgically-repaired left wrist.

Dodgers pitching prospect Zach Lee improved to 5-3 Sunday with a win for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The 2010 first-round pick threw 59 of his 88 pitches for strikes, allowing four hits and no runs. The seven-inning effort lowered his season ERA to 2.52, fifth-best in the Pacific Coast League. The 23-year-old seems to have turned the corner after struggling badly in his first season in Triple-A (5.38 ERA in 150 2/3 innings for Albuquerque last season). He'll be someone the Dodgers could look to if they need rotation help later in the year.

Rangers placed RHP Neftali Feliz on the 15-day disabled list with an axillary abscess on his right side.

That doesn't sound very fun. Feliz was dumped from the Rangers' ninth-inning role in mid-May and Shawn Tolleson has handled the club's last three save opportunities with relative ease. Tolleson, who boasts a 29/4 K/BB ratio in 20 1/3 innings this season, is clearly the guy to own now from the Texas bullpen. There is no timetable for Neftali's return to action.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny suggested Monday that Jon Jay (wrist) might be sent out on a rehab assignment.

Jay is eligible to return from the disabled list Tuesday and he took batting practice with his Cardinals teammates again on Monday afternoon, but Matheny said he wants to make sure the 30-year-old center fielder has his timing right when he's added back to the active roster. Peter Bourjos and Randal Grichuk have done a great job filling in, so that's probably part of this.
