Falcons signed P Matt Bosher to a five-year contract extension through 2019.

Bosher has been punting and handling kickoffs for the Falcons since 2011. He finished tied for fourth in the league last season with a 41.7 net average on 68 punts and produced 50 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Coach Tom Coughlin has yet to rule Odell Beckham (hamstring) out for Week 3.

It doesn't mean we'll see Beckham make his debut this week against the Texans, but it suggests the 12th overall pick is more day-to-day than week-to-week. Beckham hasn't practiced in well over a month. After placing Jerrel Jernigan on I.R. with a mid-foot sprain, the Giants are looking for a new No. 3 receiver and someone to ignite the offense. When healthy, Beckham is that sort of player.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Vikings "intend to bring back" Adrian Peterson once his legal case is resolved.

Fantasy owners of A.P. are left in the dark as they wait for the court's decision. It's worth noting Peterson is a first-time offender with no known criminal background, so it's entirely possible he merely gets a slap on the wrist for punishing his son too harshly. Peterson's first court hearing is not until October 8, but expect his attorneys to push hard for a quick resolution. Matt Asiata needs to be owned everywhere, as does rookie Jerick McKinnon. Now that the Vikings know they may not have Peterson for awhile, Cordarrelle Patterson's rushing usage could spike as well.

Vikings placed RB Adrian Peterson on the NFL's exempt/commissioner's permission list until his child-abuse case is resolved.

Under heavy public pressure after bungling the situation Monday, the Vikings caved. Now it's up to Peterson to get his legal issues resolved as soon as possible, face his punishment and get back on the field. All that is unlikely to happen anytime soon, leaving him out indefinitely. (Peterson's first court hearing isn't even scheduled until October 8). Reliable yet plodding Matt Asiata will be the Vikings' feature back for the foreseeable future. Freak talent Jerick McKinnon also needs to be owned.

The NFLPA has officially filed an appeal on Ray Rice's indefinite suspension.

"The NFLPA appeal is based on supporting facts that reveal a lack of a fair and impartial process, including the role of the office of the Commissioner of the NFL. We have asked that a neutral and jointly selected arbitrator hear this case as the Commissioner and his staff will be essential witnesses in the proceeding and thus cannot serve as impartial arbitrators," reads the statement. It's just a formality at this point. Rice's hearing should be held within 10 days. Even if his suspension is reduced, Rice won't be playing in the NFL this season.

Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence (foot, short-term I.R.) is off crutches and out of his walking boot.

Lawrence broke his foot in late July and isn't eligible to return to game action until Week 9. He's yet to begin running, but Lawrence is lifting weights. The Cowboys have just three sacks, but Pro Football Focus has surprisingly graded Dallas out as a top-three pass-rushing defense through two weeks.

Updating a previous item, Cardinals OLB John Abraham didn't pass through the concussion protocol Tuesday and will try again on Wednesday.

Abraham suffered the concussion in Week 1 and left the team to mull his future. He returned to the club Monday, but is yet to be symptom-free. The Cardinals took a flier on OLB Victor Butler Tuesday. Abraham remains day-to-day.

Coach Bruce Arians said Carson Palmer (shoulder) has a "nerve that just won't fire," and it "could be a day, or it could be a month" before he returns to the lineup.

It gels with what Arians said Monday. Palmer is anywhere from day-to-day to week-to-week. Consider him highly questionable for Week 3 against the 49ers at 4:05 PM ET. Drew Stanton will continue to start for however long Palmer is out. Stanton is merely a game manager with accuracy issues.
