Sergio Romo (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday with no issues.

He's had some soreness in his pitching shoulder early on in camp, but Giants manager Bruce Bochy said the reliever was "letting it go" Sunday with no problems. Romo is slated to serve as the club's setup man in 2015.
Mar 1 - 3:04 PM

Addison Reed (shoulder) is 2-2 1/2 weeks away from throwing off a mound.

Reed has battled some shoulder soreness at the beginning of camp but says it's now completely gone. While the closer is a couple weeks behind his normal schedule, he remains on track to be ready for Opening Day, barring any setbacks. Reed put up a 4.25 ERA and 69/15 K/BB ratio over 59 1/3 innings for the Diamondbacks last season.

Jimmy Nelson (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Sunday with no issues.

Nelson was held back from throwing for a few days due to a balky hamstring, but he's back on track now. The young right-hander is slated to open the season as the Brewers' No. 5 starter.
Mar 1 - 2:26 PM

Mike Bolsinger was scratched from throwing live batting practice on Sunday due to some leg tightness.

He should be fine in a day or two. Acquired from the Diamondbacks over the offseason, Bolsinger is a long shot to crack the Dodgers' Opening Day roster.
Mar 1 - 2:18 PM

Randal Grichuk (back) took swings off a tee and off soft toss on Sunday.

He expects to go through a full workout on Monday. Grichuk rested for a couple days due to lower back soreness, but it was never considered to be a big deal.

Jon Jay (wrist) will not play in any Grapefruit League games this week.

Jay is coming back from offseason surgery on his left wrist and has only done hitting in a batting cage so far. He'll progress to hitting off a machine this week and is not in any danger of not being ready for Opening Day. "This is about April 5," Jay said. "That's the date that matters. I'm getting ready for April 5. I have five weeks now to be ready."

Mike Vorkunov of the Star-Ledger reports that the Mets have concerns that Juan Lagares' right elbow "will be bothersome" this season.

Lagares was shut down with a couple weeks left in last season due to a sprain in the elbow. He didn't require surgery, but apparently a winter of rest hasn't totally alleviated concerns. The Mets will monitor Lagares' elbow closely in hopes of keeping the ailment under control.
Mar 1 - 1:30 PM

Rays pitching prospect Mike Montgomery will be used as a reliever during spring training.

The former top prospect just hasn't developed as hoped as a starter and the Rays have decided to finally try him out in the bullpen. Montgomery's stuff figures to play up in relief, giving him a shot to be an impact arm in Tampa's bullpen. With Jake McGee (elbow) slated to miss the first month of the season, Montgomery could be a dark horse to crack the Opening Day roster.
