Tommy Milone will start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in place of Steven Matz (arm).

It's unclear at this point how long Matz will be sidelined, but Milone should get at least a couple starts. He's posted a 7.91 ERA over nine appearances -- six starts -- in the majors this season and can be avoided for fantasy purposes.

The Mets are expected to place Steven Matz on the disabled list due to an arm injury.

Manager Terry Collins was vague when asked for details, saying only that "it has something to do with his arm" and that the left-hander "needs to shut it down for a little while." The skipper did add that Matz could've made his scheduled start Tuesday if he needed to, so it doesn't sound like an overly serious setback. However, given all of the southpaw's past physical issues, any arm-related problem is a concern. Tommy Milone will start Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks in Matz's place.

Yu Darvish (back) got through a bullpen session without incident Monday and is tentatively scheduled to start for the Dodgers on Sunday.

First, he'll throw once more on Thursday. If Darvish makes it back Sunday as planned, he'll have missed just one start.

The Dodgers are planning on having Clayton Kershaw (back) make a rehab start on Saturday.

Kershaw used all of his pitches in today's simulated game, indicating that he could be ready to start in the majors this weekend. The Dodgers, though, have no reason to take any chances with him, and pitching him in a minor league game in which he won't have to hit and might not be as tempted to try any challenging plays on defense seems like the smart play. He'll throw 60 pitches Saturday and then perhaps start for the Dodgers on Sept. 1.

Drew Pomeranz (back) said he's ready to pitch Wednesday after throwing his regular between-outings bullpen session Monday.

Barring some sort of setback, Pomeranz will face the Indians on Wednesday.

Diamondbacks recalled RHP Matt Koch from Triple-A Reno.

Koch entered the year as the seventh or eighth starter on Arizona's depth chart, but he got hurt in his first very first Triple-A outing and he's struggled mightily since returning, giving up 37 runs over 33 innings for Reno. He's just up to serve as a fresh arm for the pen, and he'll probably head right back to Triple-A soon.
Aug 21 - 3:33 PM

Jeurys Familia (shoulder) will pitch on back-to-back days for short-season Brooklyn on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Familia has pitched two scoreless innings since beginning his rehab assignment Wednesday. If these next two appearances go well, he'll be activated in short order.

Clayton Kershaw's three-inning simulated game Monday turned into a four-inning performance.

No quotes from Kershaw or the Dodgers yet, but it had to have gone well for Kershaw to get in the extra inning. Speculation had Kershaw returning from a back strain on Sept. 1, but now there's the chance he could be activated this weekend.
