Bryce Harper belted his 17th home run of the season in a losing effort against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Harper tied the game at 1-1 with his seventh-inning blast off of starter Kyle Hendricks. The phenom has homered 12 times in the month of May. Along with 17 round-trippers total, he's hitting .331/.467/.734 with 42 RBI. Player of the Month honors await him.

Matt Adams exited Tuesday's game versus the Diamondbacks in the fifth inning with an apparent right quad injury.

Adams pulled up lame while rounding first base as he gingerly pulled into second base with a double. He was able to walk off the field under his own power but did so with a noticeable limp. More should be known about his status later Tuesday, but it certainly looked like something that could lead to a disabled list stint. Mark Reynolds would be in line to take over at first base.

Addison Russell delivered a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the Cubs to a win against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Russell finished 3-for-4 on the night. The Cubs had a runner on second base and two outs in the bottom of the ninth when Russell ripped a double to right-center off of reliever Matt Grace. Russell now has 11 doubles on the season and is batting .252/.301/.426 with three home runs and 13 RBI.

Paulo Orlando's home run accounted for the Royals' only run in a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Yankees on Tuesday.

Orlando ruined Adam Warren's bid for a shutout with a solo home run in the sixth inning, his first of the season. He finished 1-for-3 on the night. The outfielder has a league-leading total of five triples but is otherwise hitting a mediocre .250/.284/.394 with seven RBI.

Jason Vargas went only four innings, allowing two runs, in a loss to the Yankees on Tuesday.

Both runs came in the first inning on a Mark Teixeira home run. He allowed four hits and a walk while striking out six. Vargas needed 76 pitches to get through four innings and did not take the mound in the fifth. The Royals were just being a bit cautious as Vargas hadn't pitched since May 5 due to a flexor strain in his left elbow. He'll take a 5.16 ERA, a 1.45 WHIP, and a 20/11 K/BB ratio in 29 2/3 innings into a start at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that trade a between the Dodgers and Braves involving Juan Uribe and Alberto Callaspo is "done," pending approval by the commissioner’s office.

It was reported earlier Tuesday that Callaspo rejected the trade, but now Rosenthal is saying he waived his right to reject any deal prior to June 15. Rosenthal says it would be a six-player trade, although it's unclear at this time who would be involved other than Uribe and Callaspo.

Adam Warren evened his record at 3-3 after holding the Royals to one run in 6 1/3 innings on Tuesday.

Warren now has three consecutive quality starts following Tuesday's outing. The lone run scored on a Paulo Orlando home run in the sixth inning, accounting for one of the mere two hits he surrendered on the evening. He also struck out five without issuing a walk. The right-hander has a 3.91 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and a 32/18 K/BB ratio over 50 2/3 innings. Warren will take on the Athletics in a road start next.
May 26 - 9:48 PM

Mark Teixeira went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a two-run double in Tuesday's win over the Royals.

Teixeira got the party started early, driving a two-run home run in the first inning off of Jason Vargas. He tacked on a two-run double in the fifth and later scored as the Yankees went up 5-0. Teixeira has shown no signs of slowing down as May nears its end. He's batting .243/.365/.588 with 14 home runs and 35 RBI.
