Alex Cobb (oblique) said Sunday that he's feeling better and is targeting late May or early June for a return.

It would be on the long end of the previously projected 4-6 week timetable, but that's no surprise since the Rays are notoriously cautious with injuries. It's not clear when Cobb will be cleared to throw again, but it probably won't happen before the end of the month.

Yankees prospect left-handed pitcher Manny Banuelos allowed four runs on five hits, failing to complete one inning on Saturday.

Banuelos only got two batters out, one by strikeout, in his first bad start in his return from Tommy John surgery. Two years ago, Banuelos was a 21-year old in Triple-A and now he's a 23-year old in High-A, so the Yankees cannot be as patient with his command woes as they were in the past. Banuelos has done well in his return, with a 11.2 K/9 and 1.034 WHIP in 9 2/3 innings over four starts.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said in an interview Sunday that the first week of June is a realistic return date for Jurickson Profar (shoulder).

It would be on the short end of the projected 10-12 week timetable that was given when it was announced that Profar had a torn right shoulder muscle. Daniels did note that they would certainly make sure the infielder is 100 percent before he's activated, so it's just a rough timeline.

Aramis Ramirez is not in the Brewers' lineup Sunday.

Ramirez was hit on the arm with a pitch during Saturday's game, but manager Ron Roenicke said it's just a planned day off for the veteran. Jeff Bianchi is at the hot corner Sunday.
Apr 20 - 11:00 AM

Cardinals outfield prospect Oscar Taveras hit his third home run of the season on Saturday for Triple-A Memphis.

Taveras is hitting .283/.328/.483 for the season, which includes hits in his previous six games while striking out zero times. He is not lighting up Triple-A, but he is hitting enough to make him the first call-up in the event there is a need in St. Louis.
Apr 20 - 10:59 AM

Kolten Wong is not in the Cardinals' lineup Sunday.

Wong has been in there regularly versus right-handers, but manager Mike Matheny is going with Mark Ellis at second base against Stephen Strasburg. Wong should return to the lineup against Jenrry Mejia and the Mets on Monday.
Apr 20 - 10:57 AM

Cubs infield prospect Javier Baez was activated from Triple-A Iowa's disabled list Sunday.

Baez missed a week of action with a left ankle injury, but he's fine now. Iowa is easing him back into things, though, as he's in the DH spot Sunday.
Apr 20 - 10:54 AM

Brian McCann is not in the Yankees' lineup Sunday.

It's simply a day of rest. J.R. Murphy is catching Vidal Nuno.
