Dexter Fowler blasted a leadoff home run on Saturday, sparking the Cubs offense in a 4-1 victory over the Phillies.

Fowler's leadoff shot came off Phillies starter Jerad Eickhoff. It was Fowler's lone hit in four at-bats on the afternoon, bringing his season slash to .316/.429/.540 with six homers and 24 RBI.

Kyle Hendricks logged his second career complete game in Saturday's one-run, five-hit domination of the Phillies.

Hendricks struck out seven and didn't walk a batter in the ballgame. He made a bid for his first career shutout, until Freddy Galvis doubled, advanced on a ground ball and stole home in the ninth inning. Now 3-4 on the season, he'll carry a terrific 2.93 ERA and 0.96 WHIP into Thursday's start against the Nationals.

Freddy Galvis went 2-for-3 with a double and stole home plate to secure the Phillies' lone run in Saturday's loss to the Cubs.

As a team the Phillies were only able to muster a total of five hits against Kyle Hendricks on Saturday, with Galvis the lone standout offensively. With his two-hit afternoon, he's now hitting .251/.280/.391 with four homers, 17 RBI and three swipes on the season.

Jerad Eickhoff suffered his seventh loss of the season on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits over his six frames against the Cubs.

Eickhoff racked up seven strikeouts on the afternoon while walking only one. The Cubs jumped on him right out of the gate, with Dexter Fowler blasting a leadoff home run in a two-run first inning. The young right-hander will look for better results next time out when he does battle against the Brewers at home on Thursday.

Michael Lorenzen (elbow) successfully threw live batting practice on Friday and is expected to toss a pair of innings in extended spring training in the very near future.

Lorenzen sprained his right ulnar collateral ligament in spring, and this represents the most meaningful step in his rehab program. Although it's unclear whether he'll return as a starter or a reliever, fantasy owners should remain patient. He posted a 5.40 ERA in 113 1/3 innings a year ago, after all, and had both walk and home-run issues.

Giants recalled RHP Chris Stratton from Triple-A Sacramento.

The 25-year-old right-hander will replace injured Matt Cain (hamstring) in the Giants' starting rotation, both physically and statistically. Stratton had compiled a 6.02 ERA in 51 1/3 innings for Triple-A Sacramento with just 36 strikeouts. How Cain-like, indeed.
May 28 - 4:15 PM

Giants placed RHP Matt Cain on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring injury.

It's been a few years since Cain has been fantasy relevant -- which makes this trip to the disabled list rather harmless -- but it still affects owners in deeper leagues or NL-onlies. Cain owns a 5.20 ERA with only a 6.37 K/9. Even when he returns, it's best to avoid him, if possible.
May 28 - 4:13 PM

Dodgers recalled RHP Casey Fien from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The right-hander is active and in uniform for Saturday's game against the Mets. He's taking the roster spot of Julio Urias who was optioned back to Triple-A on Saturday. Fien registered a 7.90 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 12/3 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings before he was cut by the Twins earlier in the season.
