ESPN's Adam Schefter reports J.J. Watt underwent back surgery on Thursday and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
This was the fear and expectation all along since it was revealed on Tuesday that Watt re-injured his back. It's believed to be a recurrence of the herniated disk that Watt needed surgery for in the offseason. The Texans will need more from former No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus.
Kamar Aiken (thigh) returned to Ravens practice Thursday, getting in a "full" session.
Aiken will be good to go for Week 4, but has fallen off the map in the Ravens' receiver corps. He has three catches for 19 yards.
Redskins CB Josh Norman is not expected to shadow Terrelle Pryor on Sunday.
Pryor is coming off a monster game, but has five inches on the 6-foot-0 Norman. He's also used all over the alignment. "We’re still working on our game plan now and (Pryor's) all over the place," coach Jay Gruden said. "Team defense is gonna have to take him away, somebody different every time possibly." Gruden lays out the situation pretty accurately. Pryor is an upside WR2.
Dolphins SLB Koa Misi (neck) and WLB Jelani Jenkins (groin) are inactive for Week 4 vs. the Bengals.
The Dolphins' already thin run defense figures to offer even less resistance to Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. Spencer Paysinger is filling in for Misi, Donald Butler for Jenkins.
Tyler Lockett (knee) remained "limited" in Thursday's practice.
Lockett will be good to go against the Jets' burnable secondary. He's a risk/reward WR4.
Jimmy Graham (knee) was downgraded to "DNP" in Thursday's practice.
Graham was limited on Wednesday. It's unclear if Graham tweaked something or the Seahawks are just managing his reps after he played 47 snaps against the 49ers. Friday will obviously tell the story. Graham is just a mid-range TE2 when active.
Bengals declared CB Dre Kirkpatrick, TE Tyler Eifert, WR Cody Core, CB KeiVarae Russell, OG Christian Westerman and DT DeShawn Williams inactive for Week 4 vs. the Dolphins.
Darqueze Dennard will slide into the starting lineup for Kirkpatrick. It's a concern for a defense that's been surprisingly leaky vs. the pass thus far.
Tyler Eifert (ankle) is inactive for Week 4 vs. the Dolphins.
Tyler Kroft and C.J. Uzomah will once again split snaps. Eifert is expected to return for Week 5.
