JaCoby Jones is once again starting in left field and batting sixth for the Tigers on Saturday.

Jones was the club's offensive star in both games of Friday's doubleheader against the Royals. It looks like he'll have an opportunity to function in an everyday role as long as he continues to hit. Given his combination of power and speed, he's worth a look in deeper mixed leagues.

Cubs placed INF/OF Ben Zobriston the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 14, with back soreness.

The 36-year-old utilityman has been battling back soreness over the past week and they finally decided to put him on the DL and better utilize the roster spot. He should only require the minimum stint on the disabled list.

Dodgers acquired RHP Tyler Pill from the Diamondbacks for cash considerations.

The 27-year-old hurler had struggled in two appearances with Triple-A Reno this season. He'll add minor league bullpen depth for the Dodgers.

Tigers optioned OF Mike Gerber to Triple-A Toledo.

Gerber was only up as the 26th man for Friday's doubleheader against the Royals. He made his major league debut in the nightcap, pinch running for Miguel Cabrera in the ninth inning.
Apr 21 - 8:40 AM

Ken Giles (back) worked a scoreless ninth inning in Friday's victory over the White Sox.

Giles set down the White Sox in order on just nine pitches. The right-hander had been unavailable the last few days due to a back issue, but it appears all is well now. He should resume his closing duties the next time a save situation arises.
Apr 21 - 7:48 AM

Devin Mesoraco hit into a fielder's choice as a pinch hitter in Friday's loss to the Cardinals.

Mesoraco sat out Wednesday's game after he was drilled on the wrist by a pitch during Wednesday's game. He should return to action behind the plate before the end of the weekend.

Jed Lowrie stayed hot on Friday against the Red Sox, going 4-for-5 with two doubles.

Lowrie is hitting an impressive .372 and he leads the majors with 32 hits and 22 RBI. He started his career with the Red Sox and showed them a little bit about what they're missing, not that the 17-2 leaders of the American League East need much help. He'll look to keep it going on Saturday against Chris Sale. He is 8-for-20 (.400) with two RBI and four strikeouts in his career against the left-handed starter for Boston.
Apr 21 - 2:41 AM

Kendall Graveman was knocked around for six earned runs, seven hits and no walks with six strikeouts over five innings in a loss Friday against the Red Sox.

Despite the poor performance he was encouraged by his new delivery, including a souped up changeup. He has allowed seven homers, tied for the most in the majors with Texas SP Cole Hamels. Graveman also has a 10.07 ERA through five starts, and the team has reportedly considered sending him down to Triple-A Nashville to iron out his issues. Fantasy owners need to avoid him like the plague right now. Daniel Gossett could be the pitcher who replaces Graveman in the rotation, if that's the way the A's organization decides to go.
