Mohamed Sanu was held without a catch in the Bengals' third preseason game.
The main takeaway is that Sanu played over Marvin Jones in two-wide sets. Sanu doesn't project for a big role even if he continues to hold of Jones. Tyler Eifert is the Bengals' No. 2 option behind A.J. Green.
Chris Ivory picked up 38 yards on six rushes in Saturday’s preseason win over the Giants.
Not a bad day at the office. Ivory did almost all of his damage on the opening drive, burning the G-Men for 35 yards on five touches. The Giants couldn’t get off their blocks fast enough and Ivory made them pay. Ivory remains a non-factor in the passing game but he’s gained enough momentum this preseason to warrant mid-round consideration. He’s certainly going to be the Jets’ preferred option on the goal line this season.
Jerick McKinnon rushed six times for 10 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys, adding four receptions for 27 yards.
Cowboys RB Gus Johnson rushed five times for 12 yards in Saturday's preseason game.
He "added" a zero-yard reception. The Cowboys' No. 4 back now has 21 carries for only 71 yards (3.38 YPC) through three preseason games. He should get major run in Thursday's finale.
Zac Stacy pounded his way to 60 yards on 13 carries in Saturday’s preseason game against the Giants.
Stacy caught a 24-yard touchdown pass on a play the Giants forgot to defend. The bruising 224-pounder also punched in a two-point conversion. Though he hasn’t improved his position on the team’s depth chart, Stacy has probably done enough to secure a roster spot. He isn’t worth a late-round flyer.
Matt Jones rushed seven times for 57 yards in the Redskins' third preseason game.
He added one catch for 17 yards. Jones had much more success against the second-team defense than Alfred Morris had against the first, but he ran clearly behind Alf in this game and saw the field after Chris Thompson as well. Jones has the talent to put pressure on Morris, but he has not climbed him on the depth chart yet. Jones has 139 yards on 20 carries (6.95 YPC) this preseason.
A.J. Green had two catches for 19 yards in the Bengals' third preseason game.
Green barely played after Andy Dalton went down with a neck injury. He'll finish the preseason with five catches for 59 yards. Green is locked in as a top-ten wideout.
A.J. Jenkins was held without a catch on one target in Saturday's preseason game.
With Dez Bryant sidelined, Jenkins got some run with the first-team offense, but he has just two catches for 40 yards through three preseason games. He should see some snaps in Thursday's finale. Jenkins is far from a lock for the 53-man roster.
