Robinson Chirinos (forearm) could be ready for activation from the 60-day disabled list when first eligible on June 9.

That comes from Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Chirinos was given a recovery timetable of 10-12 weeks when he underwent surgery for a broken right ulna on April 11. He's coming in two weeks ahead of that. It's great injury news for a Rangers team that has needed great injury news.
May 24 - 6:10 PM

Chris Young (forearm) threw a successful 35-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Young said it went well, and that he's planning for a simulated appearance Thursday or Friday. The veteran right-hander has been on the disabled list since May 12 with a forearm strain and he had a brutal 6.88 ERA over his first seven starts. He shouldn't be owned in standard fantasy formats.
May 24 - 6:04 PM

Matt Garza (lat) is scheduled to throw a 60-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday.

If that goes smoothly, he'll throw live batting practice Saturday and continue ramping up from there. "No setbacks," Garza told reporters Tuesday. "I’m pumped." The 32-year-old right-hander expects to be ready to make his 2016 debut by the middle of June.
May 24 - 5:58 PM

Reds purchased the contract of RHP Daniel Wright from Triple-A Louisville.

Wright will make his major league debut Tuesday night against the Dodgers and could stick around for a while if things go well. He was sporting a brilliant 0.79 ERA, 0.64 WHIP, and 32/5 K/BB ratio through 34 innings this season between Double-A and Triple-A, but the 25-year-old former 10th-round pick faces a tough task at Dodger Stadium and can probably be ignored for now in most fantasy leagues.
May 24 - 5:54 PM

Reds optioned OF Steve Selsky to Triple-A Louisville.

Selsky struck out in his one at-bat with the Reds. He was only in the majors for four days.
May 24 - 5:50 PM

Corey Knebel (oblique) is scheduled to throw a 45-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday.

He'll treat it like a two-inning appearance, with a break somewhere in the middle of those 45 pitches. The next step for Knebel will be live batting practice, then a rehab assignment. He's probably at least two weeks away from his 2016 major league debut. Knebel registered a promising 3.22 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 48 appearances last season for the Brewers and will slide back into a setup role when he's ready.
May 24 - 5:48 PM

Angels sent RHP Al Alburquerque outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Alburquerque was designated for assignment by the Angels on Saturday and passed through waivers unclaimed. He's spent the entire year at the Triple-A level.
May 24 - 5:35 PM

Angels sent RHP A.J. Achter outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Achter was designated for assignment by Anaheim on Sunday. He owns a 5.05 career ERA in the majors.
