Jeff Janis (quad) wasn't listed on the Packers' final injury report for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Falcons.
Janis played only one offensive snap in last week's win over Dallas but could see more action this week with Davante Adams (ankle), Geronimo Allison (hamstring) and Jordy Nelson (ribs) all looking like game-time decisions. Jared Cook and Randall Cobb should see as many targets as they can handle in Sunday's title game.
Sammy Watkins underwent foot surgery on Friday, January 20.
The Buffalo News previously reported Watkins needed more surgery, so this note is just for bookkeeping purposes. The Bills announced the procedure and claimed Watkins will be "good to go for all offseason workouts." Watkins has now undergone two surgeries to address a Jones fracture in his foot. Not yet 24 years old, Watkins will need to overcome repeated early-career injury setbacks in order to realize his immense NFL ceiling.
Packers WR Geronimo Allison (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Falcons.
So are teammates Davante Adams (ankle) and Jordy Nelson (ribs). Allison didn't practice all week but is expected to gut it out on Sunday. With Green Bay's receiving corps operating at well less than 100 percent, tight end Jared Cook could be in for a big workload this week.
Jordy Nelson (ribs, illness) is listed as questionable for the NFC Championship Game.
He was a "limited" participant in Wednesday and Thursday's practices, then sat out Friday due to the flu. Nelson's availability will be determined on Saturday, or Sunday just before the Packers face the Falcons. We don't know if he'll play, and we don't know if Nelson will be effective if he does.
Davante Adams (ankle) missed practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
As expected, Adams was held out of practice all week. He is expected to participate in Saturday's walkthrough and play against Atlanta, but Adams is unlikely to be 100 percent. Green Bay's pass-catcher corps is in injury disarray.
Former 49ers coach Jim Tomsula is interviewing for the position of Saints DL coach.
He had previously garnered some attention from Washington, but never had a formal interview. Tomsula was out of his element as a head coach but was successful during his eight-year run as the Niners' DL coach. Bill Johnson held that position for the Saints last year but was fired after the season and has already caught on with the Rams.
Alex Marvez of The Sporting News reports the Broncos are expected to hire Geep Chryst as their TEs coach.
Chryst was out of the league last year but served as the Niners' OC under Jim Tomsula in 2015. If he joins the Broncos, Chryst will be reunited with OC Mike McCoy, who he worked alongside for three seasons in Carolina. Chryst has five years of experience as an NFL TEs coach.
Taylor Gabriel wasn't listed on the Falcons' final injury report for Sunday's NFC Championship Game
Gabriel was limited with a toe/foot injury earlier in the week, but he was upgraded to full practice on Friday. He won't have any restrictions against the Packers. Gabriel caught all three of his targets for 68 yards and a touchdown when he faced Green Bay in Week 8.
