Mark Trumbo slugged a game-tying, two-run homer in the eighth inning of Monday's loss to the Cardinals.

His blast after an Ender Inciarte single came off of terrific reliever Kevin Siegrist, as the D'Backs knotted things up before the Cards eventually won in the 10th. Trumbo has given Arizona pretty much what they should have expected this season with a .264/.303/.507 batting line and seven home runs.

Brandon Morrow (shoulder) will throw a simulated game on Wednesday.

If that goes well, he should be cleared to begin a rehab assignment. Morrow has been on the shelf since early May with right shoulder inflammation but could be ready to rejoin the Padres' rotation in a couple weeks if all goes well.

Avisail Garcia exited Monday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning with an apparent injury.

Garcia singled in his lone at-bat in the top of the frame but then was removed for defense in the bottom of the inning. The outfield has battled inflammation in his right knee of late, so it's safe to assume that's the issue here again. The White Sox should update his status soon.

Josh Johnson (elbow) will be shut down from throwing due to a nerve issue in his neck.

Working his way back from Tommy John surgery, Johnson has now had setbacks with his triceps and now his neck. The good news is that the nerve issue doesn't appear to be a big deal and he hopes to resume playing catch later this week. However, obviously he can't be counted on anytime soon.

Wil Myers will undergo scans on Tuesday to check the healing of his left wrist.

Myers said Monday that he's feeling better, but the Padres want to see how his tendinitis is progressing before he's cleared to do anything. The outfielder hasn't played in two weeks and it doesn't sound like he's going to be back in the near future.

Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said Monday that the club will make a decision on when Austin Jackson (ankle) will be activated "sometime this week."

The Mariners will end a string of six straight games on artificial turf on Wednesday, so the team could decide to just activate Jackson at the beginning of an 11-game homestand on Thursday. He's been out since early May with a sprained right ankle. "I'm told he's moving pretty good, so we'll see," McClendon said.
May 25 - 7:17 PM

Jesse Hahn was on his game Monday, going the distance for his first career shutout in a 4-0 victory over the Tigers.

Hahn's defense didn't make things easy on him, as he had to navigate around three errors behind him. Three double-play balls helped, as did just one walk and five strikeouts. All four of the Tigers' hits were just singles. After a 5/3 K/BB ratio over his first three starts of the season, Hahn has a 31/9 K/BB ratio since in six outings. He'll bring an improving 3.69 ERA into a home matchup with the Yankees this weekend.
May 25 - 7:08 PM

Shane Greene started great but was undone by one bad inning Monday, yielding four runs over 5 2/3 frames in a loss to the Athletics.

Greene held the A's off the scoreboard for the first five innings of the game but was then touched up for five hits and four runs in the decisive four-run sixth inning. The right-hander allowed eight hits on the day but didn't walk anyone and struck out four. He'll take a 4.27 ERA into Anaheim this weekend.
