Shawn Kelley (calf) faced live hitters on Monday.

It's the first time he's done so since landing on the disabled list over the weekend with a left calf strain. Kelley is eligible to return on May 8 and it sounds like he should have a good chance to be activated at that time.

Monday's game between the White Sox and Orioles has been postponed due to the protests in Baltimore.

The decision was made after the O's consulted with the Baltimore City Police Department. No makeup date has been scheduled yet. Ubaldo Jimenez and Hector Noesi had been slated to start Monday.

Hisashi Iwakuma (lat) has done some very light throwing as well as strengthening exercises.

Iwakuma is nursing a Grade 1 right lat strain. The right-hander is expected to be on the shelf for 2-4 weeks, but the fact that he's already doing some throwing again is a good sign.

Anthony Rendon (knee) was scratched from a rehab game at Double-A Harrisburg on Monday due to fatigue.

This is after he already had a scheduled day of rest on Sunday. It doesn't appear to anything to be alarmed about at this point, though, so we should still expect Rendon back with the Nationals by this weekend. He'll play both second and third base with the big club.

Rockies activated RHP David Hale from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Hale is over his oblique injury but will have to work his way back to the majors. He figures to be used in Albuquerque's rotation.
Apr 27 - 6:06 PM

Rockies placed RHP Adam Ottavino on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 26, with right triceps inflammation.

It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined, but obviously it's good news that he appears to have no structural damage. John Axford picked up a save last week while Ottavino was unavailable and looks like the guy to own in fantasy leagues.
Apr 27 - 6:02 PM

Rangers recalled LHP Alex Claudio from Triple-A Round Rock.

He's taking Tanner Scheppers' spot in the bullpen. Claudio posted a 2.92 ERA over 15 relief appearances for the Rangers last season.
Apr 27 - 5:58 PM

Rangers optioned RHP Tanner Scheppers to Triple-A Round Rock.

Scheppers returned from the disabled list barely over a week ago and has now been sent out after allowing five runs over four relief innings. He'll get another chance later this season.
