Athletics prospect 3B Renato Nunez went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI on Tuesday for High-A Stockton.

Nunez has been crushing the ball since the beginning of June, with a .328/.396/.683 batting line, 17 home runs, 12 doubles and 49 RBI in 47 games. On the season, the 20-year-old has posted a .905 OPS with 26 homers, 23 doubles and 75 RBI in 95 games at Stockton. Though his power profiles nicely at the hot corner, Nunez's swing-and-miss tendencies, highlighted by an 81-29 strikeout-to-walk ratio this season, could lead to struggles against more advanced pitching once he's promoted to Double-A.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that there is a "very good chance" the Red Sox trade John Lackey in addition to Jon Lester.

The Red Sox have a $500,000 club option on Lackey for 2015 that's as a result of his 2012 Tommy John surgery, so while he might not bring as much as Lester, you can understand why he's sought after. The righty boasts a 3.60 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 116/32 K/BB ratio over 137 1/3 innings this season. Kansas City is one club known to have interest in Lackey.

Mets prospect 2B Dilson Herrera went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI on Tuesday for Double-A Binghamton.

He also walked and stole a base in the game. Herrera, 20, has been on fire since his promotion to Binghamton last month, as he's batting .345/.407/.570 with 18 extra-base hits (six home runs), 32 RBI and seven stolen bases in 35 games. His overwhelming success at the more advanced level has been a pleasant surprise, especially after he batted .307/.355/.410 in 67 games at High-A St. Lucie to begin the season. Overall, Herrera is batting .320/.373/.464 with 39 extra-base hits, 21 stolen bases and 55 RBI in 102 games between both stops.

Twins pitching prospect Jose Berrios said Wednesday that he feels fine and has no pain or tightness in his right shoulder.

Berrios exited his start with Double-A New Britain Tuesday with a shoulder issue, but it appears it's only a minor concern. No further medical evaluation of the prospect is planned.

Dodgers prospect OF Joc Pederson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run on Tuesday for Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 22-year-old has been on fire this month since coming off the disabled list for a separated shoulder, posting a .323/.500/.694 batting line with six home runs, 14 RBI and more walks (20) than strikeouts (17) in 18 games. All six of his home runs have come in the last 12 games. Pederson has a bright future in the Dodgers outfield, but he's unlikely to see time in the major leagues this season unless there's a trade or injury.

Chris Carter was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to a stomach bug.

Carter has been throwing up and is not feeling well enough to play. It's poor timing, as he's red-hot with eight homers over his last 19 games. He should be fine in a day or two, though.

Indians prospect OF Bradley Zimmer went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI on Tuesday for Short Season Mahoning Valley.

The No. 21 overall pick in this year's draft, Zimmer has been solid this summer in his professional debut, with a .280/.361/.430 batting line, 11 extra-base hits (two home runs), 18 RBI, five steals and a 17-11 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 28 games. The 21-year-old outfielder has five multi-hit performances in his last 10 games and owns an .872 OPS to with six extra-base hits and 12 RBI during that span.
Jul 30 - 12:16 PM

Cubs prospect C/OF Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI on Tuesday for High-A Daytona.

After breezing through the Short Season and Low-A levels to begin his professional career, Schwarber, the No. 4 overall pick in this year's draft, has come back to earth at Daytona, where he's batting .265/.387/.408 with three extra-base hits through 14 games. The left-handed hitter's home run Tuesday was his 10th of the season and first since July 18. Between all three stops, Schwarber is batting .362/.451/.638 with 10 home runs, 10 doubles, 35 RBI and a 29-23 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 42 games.
