Jeff Mathis went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Cardinals.

Getting a rare start behind the dish, Mathis knocked a two-run single in the sixth inning. The 33-year-old backstop has 10 RBI and eight runs scored in 27 games overall, batting .230/.256/.333 while backing up J.T. Realmuto.

Cheslor Cuthbert went 2-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

Both hits were singles. Cuthbert has played well since taking over at third base for the injured Mike Moustakas. He is batting .298 with nine home runs and 33 RBI in 262 at-bats.

Yoenis Cespedes (quad) left Saturday's game against the Rockies for precautionary reasons.

He came out in the fifth inning after going 0-for-2 with a walk. The Mets are downplaying it but it's pretty evident that Cespedes is playing at less than 100 percent. He's been dealing with quad issues off and on for most of this month. Kelly Johnson took over in left field after Cespedes exited. We wouldn't be surprised if Cespedes got the day off on Sunday.

Mike Napoli went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run as the Indians doubled up the Athletics 6-3 on Saturday.

His 23 homers are eighth-most in the American League, and he's sixth in the league with 70 RBI. It's the fifth time in his career that he's reached the 23-homer mark, and the first time since 2013. Napoli is hitting .246/.329/.486 in 95 games this year.

Jorge De La Rosa held the Mets to two runs in six innings as the Rockies won 7-2 on Saturday.

He struck out four and walked two while giving up six hits. The win evens his record at seven wins and seven losses with a 5.51 ERA. His next start will be at home versus the Marlins on Friday.
Jul 30 - 11:27 PM

Bartolo Colon was knocked around for five runs in five innings and was charged with a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.

He gave up seven hits with the big blow being a two-run homer by rookie David Dahl. Colon fanned four and walked one. His record falls to 9-6 with a 3.58 ERA in 120 1/3 innings.
Jul 30 - 11:25 PM

Marcus Semien went 2-for-4 with a home run in Saturday's loss to the Indians.

His homer was a bit of an afterthought, a solo dong in the ninth inning of a four-run game, but they all count the same. It was his 22nd of the year, giving him 50 RBI and 50 runs scored. The 25-year-old is hitting .233/.299/.458 overall.
Jul 30 - 11:23 PM

David Dahl hit a two-run home run off Bartolo Colon on Saturday.

It was his only hit of the game in four chances. His major league career is off to a great start. He is batting .348/.375/.609 with two home runs in his first 23 at-bats and has yet to play at Coors Field.
