Darrelle Revis is not expected to be disciplined for being late to Tuesday's practice.

Revis reportedly overslept through a 7:30am meeting and then was told to go home once he arrived at the Patriots facility. We've seen the Patriots not start players in the following game when things like this happen (Wes Welker), but it doesn't look that's going to happen in this case. Revis apologized to coach Bill Belichick and he's desperately needed against Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery Sunday.

The Broncos do not expect to do new contracts with Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas until after the season is over.

This doesn't mean the Broncos are going to lose either of their superstars. Both Demaryius and Julius are in the final year of their rookie deals, yet GM John Elway will have a window between the end of the season the free agency period to get new contract done. Julius will at least get what Jimmy Graham recently landed (four years, $40M with $20.9 guaranteed) and Demaryius will rightfully be asking for Calvin Johnson money (eight years, $150.5M with $60 million guaranteed).

The Titans have benched Jake Locker.

In the last year of his rookie contract, Locker has likely played his final down as a Titan. ESPN's Adam Caplan -- who's had a great read on the Titans since the draft -- "can't see" a scenario where Locker gets his job back barring an implosion by or injury to new starter Zach Mettenberger. If this is indeed it for Locker's Titans career, he will finish with 26 touchdown passes, 24 turnovers, and a 57.3 completion rate. Although Locker has myriad flaws, he has a strong enough arm and enough athleticism to resurface in 2015 as a useful NFL backup. Locker simply doesn't throw the ball with enough accuracy to be a consistent big-league starter. He's also been wildly injury prone in the pros.

The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans will start sixth-round rookie Zach Mettenberger at quarterback in Week 8 against the Texans.

Having already lost hope for the 2014 season, the Titans will start playing their pups. Injury-prone, contract-year quarterback Jake Locker has been formally demoted. It's believed Mettenberger was informed of coach Ken Whisenhunt's decision to start him on Tuesday night, which perhaps explains why none of Tennessee's quarterbacks were allowed to speak with the media on Wednesday. A strong-armed LSU product albeit with zero mobility, Mettenberger will make his first NFL start against J.J. Watt's Texans in a home game. With Jadeveon Clowney (knee) tentatively due back this week, the Houston defense is worth a look as a Week 8 streamer.

Texans ILB Brian Cushing will miss at least one week with a knee injury.

It's a blow to an already vulnerable Houston run defense, and a nice upgrade to Bishop Sankey's Week 8 matchup. Justin Tuggle and Mike Mohamed figure to start at inside linebacker against the Titans. Cushing has battled knee problems for years. PFT's Mike Florio suggests Cushing could be out through Week 11.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports teams have been calling the Titans about Nate Washington's availability.

This unofficially translates to, "We, the Titans, would love to trade Nate Washington." Already demoted in favor of Justin Hunter, Washington is just taking up roster and cap space on Tennessee's 53, and could probably be had for a conditional seventh-round pick. Unfortunately for the Titans, Washington has a guaranteed $4.8 million base salary and isn't worth half that much. They'd be lucky to get a bag of punctured footballs for him.

Raiders OLB LaMarr Woodley is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn biceps muscle.

He won't be missed. Woodley was a complete non-factor in six games for the Raiders, managing five tackles and zero sacks. Dating back to the 2009 season, Woodley's sack totals in chronological order are 13.5, 10, 9, 4, 5, and 0. GM Reggie McKenzie signed Woodley to a two-year, $12 million deal this past March. Only the Titans and Raiders -- two of the worst-run organizations in pro sports -- had interest after the Steelers cut him this past spring. Woodley figures to be released by Oakland in the offseason.

The Colts' plan is for Trent Richardson (hamstring) to return to practice on Thursday.

Despite leaving last week's game early and not practicing on Wednesday, T-Rich fully expects to play Sunday at Pittsburgh. Per Colts beat writer Mike Wells, Richardson "could have returned to the game but he was held out because the outcome had already been decided." Richardson averaged 5.5 YPC against the Bengals, which says more about Cincinnati's pathetic run defense than T-Rich.
