Aroldis Chapman struck out all three batters he faced in a perfect ninth inning Sunday, earning his 21st save against the Pirates.

The dominant left-hander has now struck out 60 batters in 29 2/3 innings of work this year. He's converted all five save chances in July after blowing his last chance of June, and Chapman owns a 2.12 ERA and 0.78 WHIP overall. He'll continue to be a top-flight fantasy option in the second half.
Jul 13 - 6:45 PM

Francisco Liriano was wild in his return to the mound Sunday, walking six while allowing three runs over four innings against the Reds.

In his first start since June 10 due to a strained oblique, Liriano was a mixed bag. The six walks were a negative, but he gave up just three hits and struck out four over his four innings of work. Liriano struggled to a 4.72 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in the first half that included the oblique injury, so he'll look for a better showing in the season's second half.
Jul 13 - 6:42 PM

Johnny Cueto finished the first half on a high note, allowing three runs over six innings in a win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Cueto gave up five hits, including a Neil Walker home run, while walking two in the outing. He also struck out seven to run his season total to 141 in 143 2/3 innings. The right-hander is 10-6 with a stellar 2.13 ERA and 0.89 WHIP heading into the All-Star break, and he's won five of his last six decisions.
Jul 13 - 6:38 PM

Jarrod Dyson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.

Getting his fifth straight start, Dyson drove in a run with a groundout in the Royals' five-run seventh inning. He also had two singles and stole his 18th base of the year. The speedy outfielder is batting .293/.348/.340 heading into the break, and he'll continue to see plenty of playing time as the Royals' fourth outfielder going forward.
Jul 13 - 6:34 PM

J.D. Martinez racked up another multi-hit day on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Royals.

Martinez, who hasn't stopped hitting since being recalled by the Tigers, now has seven multi-hit games in July alone. The outfielder owns a .346/.380/.654 line through 55 games, and he should continue to be a strong fantasy option in the second half hitting in the middle of a potent Tigers offense.
Jul 13 - 6:29 PM

Greg Holland threw a perfect ninth inning to earn his 25th save of the season against the Tigers on Sunday.

Holland didn't allow a baserunner, fanning one in the inning. After a rough patch in the middle of June, Holland enters the break having allowed just one walk and no hits in his last five innings of work. The right-hander has a 1.82 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 53/10 K/BB ratio over 34 2/3 innings overall.
Jul 13 - 6:17 PM

Rajai Davis went 3-for-3 with a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Royals.

Davis has enjoyed the month of July thus far, going 14-for-32 (.438) with five RBI and six runs scored. The emergence of J.D. Martinez has complicated the playing time in the Tigers outfield, but Davis' .296/.338/.432 line and 24 steals should continue to get his bat in the lineup semi-regularly in the second half.
Jul 13 - 6:07 PM

Bruce Chen allowed two runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings of a no-decision against the Tigers on Sunday.

Chen, who's filling in for Jason Vargas as he recovers from an appendectomy, struck out two without walking a batter on the day. He owns a 6.46 ERA and 1.66 WHIP through 30 2/3 innings as a spot starter and long reliever.
