Louis Murphy (knee, PUP) suffered a setback in practice last week.
Coach Dirk Koetter said it's not a new issue with Murphy's surgically-repaired knee. Murphy didn't practice Wednesday and is in doubt for Week 8.
Coach Gary Kubiak confirmed Devontae Booker will start Week 8 against the Chargers if C.J. Anderson (knee) can't play.
By all accounts, Anderson isn't going to play this week, or any week in the immediate future. He's said to be dealing with a bone bruise that could sideline him for the remainder of the year. The Broncos are seventh in the NFL in rushing attempts and eighth in run-play percentage. This is a run-based offense, and Booker should have no problem reach the 20-touch threshold against San Diego. Booker averaged over 9.0 YPC on five attempts against this same San Diego defense in Week 7. Booker is a locked-in RB1 and needs to be added ASAP.
Tyrell Williams (undisclosed) is not practicing Wednesday.
Williams wasn't known to suffer an injury in last week's game against the Falcons. Check back Thursday and Friday to see if he practices. Either way, Williams is staring down a tough draw against the Broncos this week.
Travis Benjamin (knee) is not practicing Wednesday.
Neither is fellow starter Tyrell Williams (undisclosed). Benjamin was on the injury report last week with a knee injury, sitting out Wednesday before returning Thursday and Friday. We'll assume that's the same scenario that will play out this week ahead of a brutal matchup with the Broncos' secondary.
Hunter Henry (concussion) is practicing Wednesday.
Henry reported concussion-like symptoms to the team after the Week 7 win over the Falcons, but it sounds like it isn't overly serious. He likely has more tests to pass, but Henry is on track to play Sunday against the Broncos.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports C.J. Anderson (knee) is expected to miss "at least a few weeks."
Garafolo's colleague, Ian Rapoport, adds that it's possible Anderson could miss the rest of the season. Anderson is getting a second opinion on Wednesday to see how severe the injury is. Anderson was able to play through it Monday night, and this comes as quite a big shock. Moving forward, Devontae Booker figures to handle every-down duties and will be backed up by special teamer Kapri Bibbs. Booker is an immediate RB1 for Week 8 vs. San Diego.
Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Pryor played just 31 snaps last week, as he was clearly limited by a strained hamstring. But Pryor is progressing and should be back playing his full allotment of snaps this week in a juicy matchup with the Jets.
Corey Coleman (hand) returned to a limited practice Wednesday.
It's Coleman's first practice since suffering a broken hand in practice ahead of Week 3. On Wednesday, Coleman simply ran routes, but wasn't allowed to catch passes. Returning this Sunday against the Jets may be a stretch, but the first-rounder should be back for Week 9 at the very latest.
