Bruce Rondon (biceps) could be activated from the disabled list on Friday.

Rondon has allowed four runs over 4 1/3 innings in his first five rehab appearances and will make a sixth appearance with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday. The hard-throwing reliever has been out all season with right biceps tendinitis.

Jason Castro (knee) is available off the bench Tuesday.

Castro didn't start after taking a ball off the right knee on Monday, but he'll be alright. "He's pretty sore," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "He's available, and we avoided sort of the bigger injuries. But he feels as you should when you get hit in the knee by a fastball."

Padres optioned RHP Cory Mazzoni to Triple-A El Paso.

Mazzoni has struggled with a 10.29 ERA over six relief appearances with the big club this season. He returns to a 1.04 ERA at El Paso.

Joel Peralta (neck) threw a bullpen session on Monday.

It was the first time he's thrown off a mound since landing on the disabled list in late April with a strained neck. There's no timetable for Peralta's return.
Jun 2 - 7:46 PM

David Wright (back) said Tuesday that there remains no timetable for his return, but he expects to be back "sooner rather than later."

Wright visited a back specialist recently after being diagnosed with spinal stenosis. The third baseman has been told he's too young to have back surgery, so he's just taking things week to week for now. In other words, he really has no idea when he'll be back and neither do the Mets. "We're not just talking about playing baseball," Wright said. "We're talking about walking and standing and being pain-free."
Jun 2 - 7:24 PM

Brian McCann is not in the Yankees' lineup Tuesday.

McCann was just off on Sunday and looks to be getting another day of rest with a day game coming Wednesday. John Ryan Murphy is behind the dish.
Jun 2 - 7:18 PM

Dodgers purchased the contract of RHP Josh Ravin from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Ravin has held a 2.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts over 20 relief innings at Oklahoma City this season. He'll be used in middle relief.
Jun 2 - 7:05 PM

Dodgers recalled LHP Daniel Coulombe from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Coulombe has allowed one run in his inning of work while up with the Dodgers this season. He'll provide bullpen depth.
