Cooper Kupp caught 2-of-2 targets for 17 yards against the 49ers in Week 3.

He played 37 of the 65 snaps in this game, but this win was all about Todd Gurley and Sammy Watkins. Jared Goff going down the field more than anticipated has cooled the hype on the slot man, but NFL defenses could make an adjustment to help make the rookie as more of a security blanket. Most owners in competitive leagues should just bench him, but he is trending down after his strong Week 1.

Gerald Everett was not targeted in Week 3 against the 49ers.

He entered Week 3 as the leading rookie for receiving yards, but a 69-yard reception last week is the main reason. Everett isn't running enough routes or getting enough snaps to be counted on in re-draft leagues .

Tavon Austin rushed three times for 14 yards and wasn't targeted against the 49ers in Week 3.

Late in the fourth quarter, he needed to be evaluated for a concussion. The Rams have been lining him up out wide and they had him in the backfield because the Rams only had two active backs. He almost scored on a jet sweep from 11 yards out, but he was tackled just shy of the goal line. This week, coach Sean McVay said Austin "has a lot more in him, just as a complete receiver," but he's still getting most of his looks as a gadget guy.

Brian Hoyer completed 23-of-37 passes for 332 yards and two passing touchdowns with nine rushing yards and one rushing score in a 41-39 loss during Week 3 against the Rams.

It looked like he was in for a rough night with an interception on the first play that was nearly a pick six. Hoyer had three turnovers in the first two games and the 49ers didn't post any touchdowns in those two games, so there were some murmurs of C.J. Beathard pushing him sooner rather than later. It's a step forward for the 31-year-old Spartan, but he's still only a low-end QB2 against the Cardinals in Week 4.
Sep 22 - 12:09 AM

Carlos Hyde rushed 25 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns against the Rams in a Week 3 loss, adding three catches for 10 yards.

He suffered a left hip injury in the first quarter and returned in the second quarter after some heat treatment. Hyde was able to score his first TD of the season with the 49ers running in four consecutive times on a goal-to-go situation, and his second TD came on another big fourth down in the fourth quarter. Additionally, coach Kyle Shanahan does appear to have plans of using Hyde as a pass catcher all season. He'll get a few extra days off to heal his hip, so his fantasy owners should plan on locking him in for Week 4 against the Cardinals.
Sep 22 - 12:08 AM

Marquise Goodwin caught 2-of-5 targets for 62 yards against the Rams in Week 3.

He showed why the 49ers brought him in with some deep balls going his way, including a 50-yard strike down the middle of the field. Goodwin is getting decent volume in the offense with 17 targets on the season, but he's only caught eight of those. His value will be tied to him making long catches, and he's not really worth owning in most leagues.
Sep 22 - 12:07 AM

Matt Breida rushed three times for nine yards and caught 3-of-4 targets for 20 yards against the Rams in Week 3.

Carlos Hyde suffered an injury in the first quarter and he was able to return, so Breida was the lead back for a couple possessions. Preseason stud Raheem Mostert did fumble, so Breida has likely locked up his status as a strong handcuff to the oft-injured Hyde. Even with Hyde looking to be OK, Breida is one of the better handcuffs out there and should be owned in 12-team leagues.
Sep 22 - 12:00 AM

Trent Taylor caught 3-of-4 targets for 32 yards and one touchdown against the Rams in Week 3.

His touchdown came from three yards out and Brian Hoyer was able to find him while he was scrambling. Taylor looked to be the primary receiver on at least a couple plays, and he played just under half the snaps in the first half. If there's an injury to a 49ers receiver, Taylor could be a name to remember in deep leagues.
