Wily Peralta was smoked for six runs in 3 1/3 innings, taking the loss on Monday against the Padres.

The Padres scored in each of the four innings in which Peralta appeared, including a three-spot in the second inning. The right-hander gave up eight hits, walked three, uncorked a wild pitch, and struck out two on the evening. He's shown promise at times this season, but has been prone to rough outings such as Monday's. Overall, Peralta carries a 4.55 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and a 40/19 K/BB ratio over 63 1/3 innings. He'll have to work against the Cardinals in a home start next.

The third baseman is on a nine-game hitting streak, the most recent four of which have included multiple hits. Solarte owns a productive .266/.319/.418 batting line with seven home runs and 40 RBI on the year.

Michael Foltynewicz gave up six runs in six frames, but left with a no-decision as the Braves eked out a 9-8 victory in 12 innings against the Giants on Monday.

The Giants clubbed four home runs against the right-hander: back-to-back solo homers by Brandons Belt and Crawford in the second innings, a two-run shot by Buster Posey in the third, and a two-run round-tripper by Crawford in the fourth. They were four of nine hits Foltynewicz allowed along with a walk while recording zero strikeouts. The 23-year-old has taken a beating in the majors as he has a 5.40 ERA with a 1.59 WHIP and a 60/21 K/BB ratio over 66 2/3 innings. He'll get a good chance at a rebound when he hosts the Marlins in his next outing.

Matt Cain took a no-decision after yielding four runs in five innings to the Braves in a 12-inning loss on Monday.

The Braves put 12 runners on base against Cain on 10 hits, a walk, and a hit batsman. All four runs scored in the bottom of the sixth, when Cain allowed two singles, a three-run home run, and a double before departing with no outs. The right-hander recorded only one strikeout on the evening. Cain has been inconsistent in his first six starts, owning a 4.91 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP and a 24/8 K/BB ratio over 33 innings. He'll look for better results at Wrigley Field versus the Cubs in his next start.
