Patriots RB Dion Lewis rushed three times for 12 yards and caught four passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' third preseason game.
Jimmy Garoppolo hit Lewis on a slant in the fourth quarter for a nine-yard touchdown. The diminutive running back was split out wide left on the play, and has lined up in various spots this preseason. Lewis did not get any run until the second half, but he once again made use of his playing time. He now has 80 total yards and two touchdowns in two preseason games.
Jaguars DE Andre Branch is headed for an MRI on his left knee.
Branch was injured in the third preseason game. He was spotted on crutches in the locker room, but reportedly told teammates he did not need them. Branch is the top backup to Chris Clemons at the LEO spot.
Patriots FB James Develin suffered a broken tibia in the team's third preseason game.
The injury was originally feared to be an Achilles' injury. While the broken tibia diagnosis is better, it will still sideline Develin at least half the year and perhaps knock him out for the whole season. The Patriots do not have another full back on the roster.
The Chiefs expect Albert Wilson to be "fine" after Friday night's shoulder scare.
He escaped with a mild AC sprain in the shoulder. It's a "minor deal," per coach Andy Reid. Wilson is currently on track to open the season starting opposite Jeremy Maclin, but should be feeling some heat from Chris Conley.
Knile Davis had two catches for 17 yards in Kansas City's third preseason game.
Davis played behind Jamaal Charles, but didn't have any carries. Charcandrick West also worked with the first team and finished as the Chiefs leading rusher. Davis remains the top handcuff to Charles. Through three preseason games, Davis has 15 carries for 52 yards (3.46 YPC).
Antonio Andrews had a two-yard touchdown in Tennessee's third preseason game.
With David Cobb sitting out, the Titans used Andrews as a short-yardage complement to Bishop Sankey. He mixed in with the first team, vulturing a goal-line touchdown. Andrews has 10 carries for 39 yards and two touchdowns through three preseason games.
Rookie WR Chris Conley caught three passes for 30 yards in Kansas City's third preseason game.
Conley started in three-wide sets after making his preseason debut last week. He was targeted six times, behind only Jeremy Maclin. Conley drew a pass interference call that set up Travis Kelce's eight-yard touchdown. With Albert Wilson (shoulder) sidelined, Conley has a chance to find his way into early-season base packages.
Justin Hunter was held without a catch in Tennessee's third preseason game.
Hunter played exclusively with the second team, with Hakeem Nicks starting opposite Kendall Wright. All four of his targets came on deep routes. Hunter has just two catches for 14 yards through three preseason games. Hunter isn't a recommended late-round flyer.
