Kendall Graveman limited the Twins to two runs over six innings in Monday's 3-2 victory.

He gave up six hits, walked three and recorded five strikeouts along the way. It had been over a month since Graveman picked up a victory, and April 20 was also the date of his last quality start before Monday. He'll look to keep it going this weekend in Houston.

The Twins will recall Byron Buxton from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

He'll take the roster spot of Danny Santana, who left Monday's game with a hamstring strain. Buxton owns a .195/.239/.316 batting line over 187 plate appearances in the majors, but the tools are obvious and it's easy to forget that he's just 22 years old. For what it's worth, he came into Monday's action hitting .333/.402/.605 with six homers and four steals over 28 games since his demotion to Triple-A. That includes 11 walks and 25 strikeouts. It hasn't clicked for him so far in the majors, but he's still very exciting for the long-term.

Danny Santana (hamstring) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Santana injured his left hamstring during Monday's game and will require an extended absence. The Twins will call up Byron Buxton to take his place on the active roster.

Ryan Madson nailed down his 12th save of the season with scoreless ninth inning in Monday's win over the Twins.

There was no sweat here, as Madson recorded a couple strikeouts and a foulout to protect the one-run lead. Madson pitched the eighth inning Sunday against the middle of the Tigers' order and gave way to Sean Doolittle in the ninth as the lefty converted the save. That will happen on occasion as the A's play the matchups, but Madson is still the primary source for saves in Oakland.
May 30 - 7:00 PM

Ervin Santana pitched well but was saddled with a loss Monday, allowing three runs over seven frames against the Athletics.

Santana surrendered a leadoff home run to Coco Crisp in the bottom of the first inning and then coughed up the lead as the A's tallied single runs in the fifth and sixth. The righty has just one win on the season -- which is no surprise given that the Twins have only 15 as a teams -- but he's mostly pitched pretty well, as a clunker versus the Royals last week has skewed his stats. Santana gets the Rays over the weekend.

Byron Buxton was pulled from Monday's game with Triple-A Rochester.

Danny Santana exited Monday's game with a left hamstring strain, so it appears that the Twins are preparing to place him on the disabled list and bring Buxton back from Triple-A. The 22-year-old was demoted in late April after batting just .156/.208/.289 in 49 plate appearances, but he came into Monday's action hitting .333/.402/.605 with six homers and four steals over 28 games in Triple-A. He'll be worth consideration in most mixed leagues assuming he gets the call.
May 30 - 6:52 PM

Coco Crisp belted a solo home run in Monday's win over the Twins.

Crisp led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo blast off of Ervin Santana. He later added a walk, reaching base in two of his four plate appearances. Crisp has been used almost exclusively in the leadoff spot this month and has been playing every day between left and center field. His .250/.304/.436 batting line isn't great, but he's offered a little category juice with five homers and five steals.
May 30 - 6:49 PM

Danny Santana exited Monday's game against the Athletics in the seventh inning with a left hamstring strain.

Santana, who missed time with a right hamstring strain earlier this season, hurt his left hamstring while running to second base on a sacrifice bunt. It will be interesting to see if the Twins call up Byron Buxton if the injury requires a trip to the disabled list. Stay tuned.
