Pirates prospect Tyler Glasnow lost a perfect game in the fifth inning Friday in a win for Double-A Altoona.

He only gave up one hit, striking out seven in a six-inning effort. The 6'8, 225-pounder is an imposing figure on the mound. In four starts, opponents have scored just two runs off him while batting .158 with six walks. The 21-year-old and former fifth-round pick is widely considered Pittsburgh's top prospect.

Mariners optioned RHP Yoervis Medina to Triple-A Tacoma.

The 26-year-old right-hander entered the season as one of the primary set-up options in the Mariners bullpen, and held his own with a 3.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 9/7 K/BB ratio over 12 innings of work. The team will hold off on announcing a corresponding roster move until Monday.

Mariners optioned LHP Tyler Olson to Triple-A Tacoma.

The 25-year-old southpaw appeared in 11 games for the Mariners, posting a 5.40 ERA, 2.10 WHIP and 8/10 K/BB ratio. He'll continue to function as organizational bullpen depth.

Luke Gregerson earned his sixth save on Sunday, walking one and striking out one Mariner in a scoreless ninth.

After walking Rickie Weeks, Gregerson induced a double-play grounder from Brad Miller to end the game. It's been a sketchy few days for Gregerson, who allowed two home runs on Friday. He picked up the save in that one, too. While he's now 6-for-7 in save chances, he'll have to pitch more tightly if he expects to keep up the good percentage. For the season, he holds a 2.77 and 10/2 K/BB ratio over 13 innings.

Jose Iglesias (groin) is hopeful that he'll be able to return to the Tigers starting lineup on Tuesday.

Iglesias left Sunday's game against the Royals due to tightness in his left groin. The defensive wizard said that he originally tweaked it during the ninth inning on Saturday and that it tightened back up on him during Sunday's contest. The Tigers may play it safe and give him an extra day off after Monday's off day.

Mariners prospect Daniel Missaki pitched the first seven frames of a combined no-hitter Friday for Low-A Clinton.

If Missaki wasn't on the top prospect radar before, he should be now. The 19-year-old was electric Friday, holding Cedar Rapids to one walk in seven otherwise flawless innings. Give Missaki credit for attacking the strike zone. In five starts this year, he's fanned 30 hitters while allowing only four walks.

Seth Smith singled, doubled and tripled against the Astros on Sunday.

Alas, the home run was not to be. Smith finished the contest 3-for-4 and tossed in an outfield assist for good measure. The strong game pushed his batting line to .276/.333/.483, with one home run, eight runs scored and six RBI. These numbers are more or less in-line with his career-slash of .265/.346/.452. A groin injury from earlier in the season no longer seems to be an issue.

Phillies prospect Brandon Leibrandt was lights out Saturday in a victory for High-A Clearwater.

Leibrandt struck out nine hitters while limiting Dunedin to one run in six innings. The 22-year-old has tossed a quality start in each of his five outings this year, holding hitters to a .185 average in 31 innings. His 28-to-6 strikeout to walk ratio is turning heads and it may not be long until we see Leibrandt in Double-A.
