Adam Jones hit a solo home run, his only hit in five at-bats, in Tuesday's 12-inning win over the Angels.

Jones tied the game up at 1-1 when he took Jered Weaver deep in the first inning. It's the 20th blast of the season for the 28-year-old outfielder, who now has four consecutive seasons with at least 20 homers. Jones is slashing .292/.319/.491 with 65 RBI and six stolen bases.

Nick Markakis went 2-for-6 with a three-run home run, but the Orioles needed 12 innings to overcome the Angels in a win on Tuesday.

Markakis took Jered Weaver out to right field in the fourth inning, giving the Orioles a 6-4 lead at the time. It was a rare bit of power from Markakis, who now has a .285/.346/.393 line with eight home runs and 37 RBI on the season.

Josh Hamilton finished 3-for-6 with a double, a solo home run, and 3 RBI, but it wasn't enough as the Angels were bested in 12 innings by the Orioles on Tuesday.

Hamilton put the Angels on the board early with a first inning ground out, hit a solo homer in the fifth, and knocked in his third run with a single in the seventh. It was his first home run since July 2, but Hamilton has otherwise had a productive season when he has been healthy. He owns a .293/.365/.442 slash line with six home runs and 32 RBI.

Manny Machado sent the Orioles home winners, belting a walk-off solo home run to left field in the 12th inning on Tuesday against the Angels.

Machado went into the at-bat 1-for-5 with an RBI double, and wasted no time ending the ballgame as he was the first batter reliever Cory Rasmus faced in the 12th. The third baseman has a respectable .268/.314/.430 slash line with 11 home runs and 27 RBI this season.

Mike Zunino doubled and hit a solo home run in three at-bats as the Mariners topped the Indians by a 5-2 margin on Tuesday.

The catcher has now homered in back-to-back ballgames, giving him 16 on the season. Zunino has been lackluster in the average and on-base departments, but he has provided power out of the middle of the Mariners' lineup. He owns a .214/.265/.435 slash line with 38 RBI.

Henderson Alvarez threw seven scoreless innings in the Marlins' 3-0 shutout of the Nationals on Tuesday.

Alvarez had one sticky situation in the second inning that required a bit of magic -- and some luck -- but he otherwise quieted the Nationals over his seven innings. The right-hander allowed just three hits and walked four on the evening. The All-Star moved to 8-5 with a 2.48 ERA through 22 starts this season, and he'll square off with the Reds on Sunday.

Fernando Rodney allowed a single, but was able to preserve the Mariners' three-run lead in the ninth inning in Tuesday's win over the Indians.

With back-to-back strikeouts to end the ninth inning, Rodney pushed his AL-best save total to 29. Only a handful of closers have been better than the veteran Rodney, who has blown only three saves and has a 2.11 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 48/17 K/BB ratio.

Dustin Ackley went 3-for-5 with a two-run double as the Mariners defeated the Indians on Tuesday.

Ackley drove in the middle two runs in a four-run fourth inning, doubling to right field off of Trevor Bauer. The 26-year-old has been red-hot since returning from the break, as he holds a .444 average (20-for-45) in 11 games since. The Mariners hope it's a sign of things to come, as Ackley's numbers overall aren't too great -- he has a .256/.303/.372 slash line with four home runs and 34 RBI.
