Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he thinks LT Eric Fisher (ankle) will play Week 1.

Fisher suffered a high-ankle sprain in practice on August 17. High-ankle injuries can be troublesome, but he will be almost a month removed from the injury when the regular season opens. Fisher should be able to play.

The Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports the Eagles are shopping CB Jaylen Watkins.

A 2014 fourth-rounder out of Florida, Watkins struggled this preseason and was burned by Chris Owusu for a touchdown in the fourth preseason game. The Eagles will struggle to nab a seventh-round pick.

Colts acquired LB Sio Moore from the Raiders in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in 2016.

We're going to go out on a limb and guess this deal works out better than Colts GM Ryan Grigson's Jerry Hughes and Trent Richardson trades. For whatever reason, Moore was immediately disliked by the new Jack Del Rio coaching staff in Oakland despite piling up 7.5 sacks, 140 tackles, and two forced fumbles in his first two NFL seasons. The 66th overall pick in the 2013 draft, Moore turned 25 years old in May. He can play inside and outside linebacker and should become a contributor as the season moves along. The Colts also acquire Moore's contract, which puts him under Indy's control for near-minimum base salaries the next two seasons. The Colts should win this one pretty handily.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said rookie WR Chris Conley is the team's "best post route runner."

Conley's TD catch in the preseason finale came on a post. "We noticed that early when he got here," Reid said. "You get into his fourth, fifth step and all of the sudden he's covering a lot of ground and climbing on top of you fast and that helps on that type of a route." Reid added the quarterbacks "have a lot of trust" in the rookie receiver. An explosive athlete with a knack for finding holes in zone, Conley should be the starter opposite Jeremy Maclin sooner rather than later.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Larry Holder said he gets the "sense" Saints coach Sean Payton would be comfortable using rookie RB Marcus Murphy in the Darren Sproles role.

Sproles recorded over 70 catches in all three years in New Orleans and averaged 140 touches a season. C.J Spiller is expected to fill that role in the Saints' offense this year, but his status for Week 1 is murky following a knee scope on August 14. Murphy is not worth an add yet, but he is a name to follow in deeper PPR leagues if Spiller is unable to get healthy.

Bears released ILB Mason Foster.

So continues Foster's precipitous fall, though his $825,000 salary was a clear sign his roster spot wasn't assured. Foster is only 26, but struggled mightily for the Bucs last season. He's a two-down banger, and not a particularly good one. The Bears have also waived TE Bear Pascoe, WR Rashad Lawrence, LB Kyle Woestmann and CB Qumain Black.

Seahawks signed RB Fred Jackson to a one-year contract.

Robert Turbin (ankle) is out indefinitely, and the Seahawks don't trust Christine Michael as a clear-cut backup. Long tight with Marshawn Lynch from their time together in Buffalo, Jackson is 34 1/2 years old but still set career highs in receptions and receiving yards last season, and can get what's blocked as a runner. It's possible he'll maintain the Seahawks' No. 2 running back job even when Turbin returns. Turbin was unimpressive this preseason coming off hip surgery, lacking burst and change of direction en route to a 16-36 rushing line.
Sep 4 - 7:27 PM

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said there is no recovery timetable for RB Robert Turbin (sprained ankle).

"It’s a legitimate ankle sprain," Carroll said. "It just depends on how he can respond. So we just have to wait and see on that." The injury sounds like it could sideline Turbin for a while. Seattle signed veteran Fred Jackson on Friday.
