Coach Mike Mularkey said Friday the Titans intend to keep Kendall Wright as a rotational wide receiver.
Underselling easily his best wideout, Mularkey described Wright as a "very good slot receiver, third-down receiver." Wright has turned in the Titans' two best wide receiver performances of the season over the past three games, but he has yet to play more than 50 percent of Tennessee's snaps in a given week. The limited usage will make Wright tough to trust in fantasy leagues. In between his big weeks, Wright mixed in a three-target, 14-yard clunker.
Titans coach Mike Mularkey said DeMarco Murray will undergo an MRI on his injured toe.
Mularkey said he doesn't believe the injury is serious, so this could just be a case of the Titans doing their due diligence. Murray left Thursday night's game late in the first half but returned after halftime and finished with 123 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Second-round rookie Derrick Henry is next up on the Titans' running back depth chart, though we're still expecting Murray to suit up against San Diego in Week 9.
Jets C Nick Mangold (ankle) is doubtful for Week 8 against the Browns.
Mangold didn't practice this week after hurting his ankle against Baltimore in Week 7. Wesley Johnson will hold down the fort at center Sunday in Cleveland.
Jets CB Buster Skrine (knee) is listed as doubtful for Week 8.
Skrine has not been having a good season -- he got benched in mid-October -- but his absence further improves Josh McCown's matchup by putting a backup on the field. McCown is an underrated streamer in season-long leagues this week. McCown is also dirt cheap on DFS sites.
Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is expected to return for Week 8 against Kansas City.
Moncrief was able to practice enough to get clearance for his return from a Week 2 shoulder blade fracture. Although it is good process to be skeptical of players coming off multi-week injuries, Moncrief has a strong matchup and should be a near-full-time player with Andrew Luck in a potentially high-scoring game. He's a WR3 play in Week 8 with rest-of-season WR2 upside.
Colts LG Jack Mewhort (triceps) is out for Week 8 against the Chiefs.
He'll miss his second straight game due to a triceps injury. Joe Haeg will draw another start at left guard. Consider Mewhort week to week.
Colts DEs Henry Anderson (knee) and Kendall Langford (knee) have been ruled out for Week 8.
As both are difference makers in run defense, Anderson and Langford's absence will be felt against Chiefs offensive centerpiece Spencer Ware.
Dwayne Allen (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 8.
Jack Doyle played 93 percent of the snaps in Allen's place last week.
