Coach Rex Ryan said Reggie Bush could be used at slot receiver.

With Greg Salas sidelined, Bush could get some time in three-wide sets. Buffalo reportedly has some plays designed for him, but it's hard to see him making an impact. Bush has played just two snaps since Week 1.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh says LT Ronnie Stanley (doubtful, foot) "has a chance" to play Sunday.

Stanley didn't practice all week, and doubtful players are almost never active. He remains unlikely to play despite Baltimore not officially ruling him out. James Hurst should start in Stanley's place.

Saints released OL Khalif Barnes.

Barnes hasn't been active all year. He shouldn't draw much interest around the league despite starting experience. The Saints promoted CB Brian Dixon from the practice squad to take his place on the roster.
Oct 1 - 5:12 PM

Patriots signed FB Glenn Gronkowski to their practice squad.

Gronkowski survived final cuts with Buffalo, but was released after Week 1. He’s unlikely to get promoted anytime soon. Gronkowski gives the Patriots a second fullback behind James Develin.

Patriots released DE John Hughes.

Hughes was just signed this week. He loses his roster spot to TE Greg Scruggs.

Bills WR Greg Salas (groin) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Patriots.

Salas got in a limited practice Wednesday before being downgraded to DNP Thursday and Friday. It'll be Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin, and Walter Powell as the Bills' top three receivers with Sammy Watkins (foot, I.R.) also out.
Oct 1 - 4:35 PM

49ers promoted TE Je'Ron Hamm to the active roster.

It's insurance with Vance McDonald (hip) and Garrett Celek (back) questionable for Sunday. The 49ers released RB DuJuan Harris in a corresponding move.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Patriots haven't committed to Jimmy Garoppolo (questionable, shoulder) as their Week 4 starter.

This conflicts with a previous report Garoppolo will start Sunday. The Patriots are "still determining who their quarterback will be," and could take the decision into pre-game warmups. Garoppolo is still the favorite to start after practicing on a limited basis all week, but his status can't be taken for granted.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: It might be best to avoid the Patriots passing game this weekend. With both backup quarterbacks banged up, New England will continue to depend on their ground attack. LeGarrette Blount leads the league in rushing attempts (25 per game), and he’s scored a touchdown in each contest. He also has insane splits when the Patriots win by more than six points. His average line jumps from 9.4/35.2/0.19 to 15.9/79.3/1.09. The Patriots are 6.5-point favorites this weekend against the Bills.
