Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports that Logan Morrison (hamstring) could be headed to the disabled list.

The Mariners are calling up Nick Franklin, and Divish sees a Morrison DL stint as the most logical corresponding move. LoMo injured his right hamstring in Monday's game and according to Divish had it "heavily bandaged" Tuesday. The 26-year-old is batting just .150/.227/.150 with no homers and no RBI in eight games so far this season.

MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports that Tom Gorzelanny (shoulder) had "a little setback" last week but is "back on track."

Gorzelanny is still working his way back from offseason shoulder surgery. He's expected to miss most, if not all, of April.

Reds manager Bryan Price said Wednesday that Aroldis Chapman (head) could throw live batting practice before the end of the team's upcoming road trip.

The road trip concludes on April 27. Chapman threw his first bullpen session since surgery on Monday and came out of it feeling "great." While the closer's rehab is going well, he still isn't expected back until mid-to-late May.

Astros activated RHP Scott Feldman from the bereavement list.

Feldman was away from the club for a few days after the passing of his father. His next start will come on Thursday against the Royals.

Astros purchased the contract of OF George Springer from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

News broke late Tuesday night that Springer was getting a promotion, and now the move is official. The top prospect has hit .353 with three homers, nine RBI and four stolen bases in his first 13 contests for Oklahoma City this season after batting .303/.411/.600 with 37 longballs and 45 steals last year. He'll play every day -- likely in right field -- and needs to be owned in all fantasy formats.

Bud Norris will be available out of the bullpen Wednesday.

The O's have a couple relievers under the weather, so they'll have Norris on call just in case. If he doesn't pitch Wednesday, he'll be in line to start Saturday.
Apr 16 - 11:08 AM

Derek Jeter (quad) said that he'll be in the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

Jeter will miss a third straight contest this afternoon with a sore quad, but he'll be ready for the nightcap. Dean Anna is getting another start at shortstop in the afternoon game.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Mariners will call up Nick Franklin from Triple-A Tacoma.

Heyman also notes that Franklin could see some playing time in the outfield. The youngster earned the promotion after a .395/.469/.744 start with four homers and 13 RBI over his first 11 Triple-A contests this season. It's possible Logan Morrison (hamstring) could be headed to the DL.
