Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware (arm) has been ruled out for Week 7.
Ware worked out with the team this week, but wasn't cleared to practice. He's targeting a Week 9 return.
Broncos LT Russell Okung (concussion) is practicing Saturday.
Coach Gary Kubiak said Friday Okung is "on pace" to play Monday night, and another practice will do nothing to change that. Cody Latimer (concussion) also returned to practice Saturday, but he is more questionable.
Philip Rivers has fared well against the Falcons' defensive scheme throughout his career.
The former defensive coordinator in Seattle, Dan Quinn runs a similar scheme to that of both the Seahawks and the Jaguars, who are coached by fellow former Seattle DC Gus Bradley. Rivers torched Seattle for 455 yards and two scores when Bradley was running the defense there in 2010, and he has dominated the Jaguars in the last three years including a four-touchdown game in Week 2. That history does not guarantee success, but the Falcons have struggled against quarterbacks anyway this season. Rivers is a great option this week.
Saints LT Terron Armstead (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Chiefs.
Armstead is expected to play after practicing on a limited basis all week. Andrus Peat, who filled in for Armstead at left tackle the last three games, will sit with a groin injury.
Marvin Jones is not worried about his declining target totals.
Jones has just 26 targets the last four weeks after seeing 21 in the first two games. "I haven’t put up the same yardage I was putting up, for various reasons," Jones said, "but at the end of the day, we got Ws." Jones has seen more attention since his early-season explosion, but that could change after Golden Tate got loose for several big plays last week. Still the No. 1 in Detroit, Jones will be a solid WR2 most weeks.
Eric Decker (hip surgery, shoulder surgery) is not worried about missing time in 2017.
Coach Todd Bowles said Decker making it back in time for 2017 would be "close," but the receiver thinks he will be ready. "I'm not worried about missing any time next year," Decker said. "I'll be fine by the start of next year." Decker is unable to undergo surgery on his shoulder until he is off crutches from his hip operation. Even if he is ready for Week 1, Decker should spend most of next year's camp on the sidelines.
ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley expects Joe Flacco (shoulder, questionable) to be active Week 7 against the Jets after the Ravens failed to add a quarterback Saturday.
He is fully expected to start after getting in a full practice Friday, and Hensley said he "showed no effects" from the injury in the session. Flacco has flubbed plenty of good matchups this season, but he should find success against the Jets. He is a fine streaming option. RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant:
Even though the Jets are dead last in Football Outsiders’ pass DVOA metric, it may be best to avoid Flacco in daily contests. There’s been reverse line movement on this game – an indication that sharp money is on the Jets – and the total has trended downward to 40.5. Flacco has only thrown five touchdowns over six games, and he appears to be pretty banged up. Plus, there are other similarly priced quarterbacks in equally great matchups. For example, Andy Dalton has the Browns and Kirk Cousins faces the Lions.
Ravens placed S Kendrick Lewis on injured reserve with a thigh injury.
Lorenzo Taliaferro was activated from the PUP to take Lewis' spot on the roster. Lewis suffered a thigh injury which was apparently significant in Thursday's practice. A reserve who has played just 17 defensive snaps this season, Lewis should stick on IR the rest of the season.
