Travis Jankowski was scratched from the Padres' lineup Sunday with a sore quad.

Jankowski is available off the bench, so it appears the move was precautionary. Matt Szczur has replaced him in the lineup.

Angels released C Juan Graterol.

Graterol cleared waivers after being designated for assignment but the Halos decided to cut him loose. He'll look for a minor league pact elsewhere.
Jun 24 - 2:46 PM

Angels recalled RHP Hansel Robles from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Robles was initially optioned after being claimed off waivers Saturday but now finds himself in the majors with his new club. He possesses swing-and-miss stuff but has always had major walk and home run issues.

Angels optioned INF Jose Fernandez to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Fernandez put up a .273/.273/.333 batting line over 10 games and hadn't been playing much lately. New waiver claim Hansel Robles is replacing him on the roster.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said in an interview on Astros Radio on Sunday that there's a "decent likelihood" outfield prospect Kyle Tucker will make his major league debut this summer.

It's not exactly groundbreaking stuff, as Luhnow is hardly committing to anything here. Still, Tucker is certainly looking worthy of a look-see by the big club with a .314/.382/.509 batting line, 10 home runs, 57 RBI and 13 stolen bases with Triple-A Fresno. He's been on fire in June with an absurd .415/.451/.634 batting line and has played all three outfield spots for Fresno this season. One of the top prospects in the game, Tucker is a worthy stash in redrafts even if it might be a while before we see him.
Jun 24 - 2:35 PM

Rockies recalled RHP Yency Almonte from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Almonte was just sent down but makes a quick return with Bryan Shaw (calf) going down. He's allowed two unearned runs over two relief appearances during his time with the big club.
Jun 24 - 2:21 PM

Rockies placed RHP Bryan Shaw on the 10-day disabled list with a right calf strain.

Shaw has been a disaster this season with a 7.57 ERA over 41 appearances and now finds himself on the disabled list. It's unclear how much time he might miss.

Garrett Richards (hamstring) will throw a bullpen session Monday.

If that goes well, he'll throw off a mound again Wednesday and then hopefully make a rehab start next weekend. If Richards can progress without any setbacks, he should be in line to rejoin the Angels' rotation sometime next week.
