According to the blog Manny Does Taiwan, Manny Ramirez has been taken off the roster of the EDA Rhinos of the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Ramirez is slated to leave the country on June 21. No word on the reason for him leaving the team, though there has been some speculation that he could be headed to Japan. The 41-year-old slugger batted .352/.422/.555 with eight home runs and 43 RBI in 206 plate appearances during his time with the Rhinos.

According to Alex Speier of WEEI.com, the Red Sox will officially sign first-round left-hander Trey Ball on Wednesday.

Ball, who was selected No. 7 overall in this month's First-Year Player Draft, was in Boston on Monday to take his physical. No word yet on the exact amount of his bonus, but he's expected to sign for less than the $3.246 million recommended slot value.

Danny Espinosa (wrist) could stay in the minors once his 20-day rehab window expires.

Espinosa's wrist is feeling better, but it hasn't shown in his performance thus far in Triple-A, as he's hitting just .118 (2-for-17) with 10 strikeouts over his first six games. Anthony Rendon is playing well during his absence, so there's no reason to make a change if Espinosa continues to struggle during his rehab stint.

Hiram Burgos (shoulder) allowed two runs in four innings for High-A Brevard County on Tuesday in his second minor league rehab start.

Burgos, who is working his way back from a right shoulder impingement, struck out four and walked none. It's not clear if he'll require another rehab start. The 25-year-old right-hander has a 6.44 ERA and 18/11 K/BB ratio in 29 1/3 innings over six starts this season.

Ryan Vogelsong had all five pins removed from his surgically-repaired right hand on Tuesday.

That's good news for Vogelsong, who originally expected to only have two or three pins removed. He'll now have the ability to perform more mobility and flexibility exercises, some of them earlier than expected. As of now, the Giants are hoping to get Vogelsong back near the end of July.

Brandon Crawford (fingers) is expected to miss Wednesday's game.

Crawford sprained the index and middle fingers on his right hand during Tuesday's win over the Padres. His fingers were swollen and he couldn't grip a ball, but it sounds like there's a chance he could return Thursday. Consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Everth Cabrera (hamstring) is expected to be placed on the disabled list Wednesday.

Cabrera injured his left hamstring during Sunday's game and will now receive some extended rest. It's too bad, as the 26-year-old is in the midst of a breakout season. Alexi Amarista and Pedro Ciriaco figure to split playing time at shortstop during his absence.

Yoervis Medina pitched a perfect bottom of the 10th in a 3-2 game to earn the save as the Mariners edged the Angels on Tuesday.

Medina might have been in line for the save in the ninth anyway, given that Oliver Perez was used to pitch a scoreless seventh with the Mariners up 2-1. Tom Wilhelmsen let that lead get away in the eighth, but the Mariners reclaimed it in the 10th after Erick Aybar couldn't quite get a handle on Kendrys Morales' sharp liner over his head. Medina went on to retire Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo and Howie Kendrick in order for the save. He's now a candidate for more saves, though he has the same sort of control troubles as Wilhelmsen. Even after tonight, he's walked 11 in his last 13 1/3 innings of work.
