Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that "about eight teams" remain interested in Addison Reed as a trade piece.

The Rays, Dodgers and Red Sox are among the teams that have reportedly kicked the tires on potentially acquiring Reed. There is no smoke around an imminent trade at this juncture. In 48 appearances this season, the right-hander is 30-for-33 in save chances and has pitched to a 2.63 ERA with a 48/6 K/BB ratio.

Odubel Herrera is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Aaron Altherr is playing center and hitting fifth in Herrera's place. Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said that Herrera will also sit when the team takes on the Braves on Friday, but says that this two-game rest is not a benching.

Clint Frazier finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, a walk, and a run scored on Wednesday afternoon against the Reds.

Frazier slapped RBI singles in the third and fifth to give New York a 2-0 lead, and they would go on to win the game 9-5. The 22-year-old outfielder boasts an .871 OPS with three home runs, 13 RBI, and eight runs scored through his first 18 major league games.

Frazier took Tony Cingrani deep to left in the Yankees' five-run bottom of the seventh inning. He also singled in the bottom of the third, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Frazier is 5-for-21 (.238) since being acquired from the White Sox last Wednesday.

Brewers placed RHP Matt Garza on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 23, with a right lower leg strain.

Garza had been scheduled to start against the Nationals on Thursday, but that is no longer in the cards. The Brewers have yet to announce a replacement starter. There is no current timetable for Garza's return. Prior to landing on the disabled list, he had been pitching to a 3.83 ERA in 15 starts.

Adam Duvall swatted his 21st home run of the year on Wednesday afternoon against the Yankees.

It was a three-run bomb in the top of the eighth inning off Yankees right-hander Luis Cessa. Duvall finished 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored in the loss.

Luis Severino allowed just two unearned runs over seven innings Wednesday in a win over the Reds.

Severino struck out nine batters and limited the Cincinnati offense to three hits and two walks. He was working on a shutout until an ugly top of the seventh that began with a Didi Gregorius fielding error. The young right-hander is now 7-4 on the season with an outstanding 3.03 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 145/32 K/BB ratio in 127 2/3 innings. He'll get the Tigers at home next Monday, on the night of the trade deadline.

Shawn Kelley (trapezius) will throw a simulated game on Wednesday.

Kelley has ramped up his rehab efforts of late, progressing from throwing off flat ground to a bullpen session earlier this week. He has been out of action since mid-June due to a strained right trapezius muscle. While his rehab is starting to move along at a faster pace, there is no current timetable for his return.
