Trevor Rosenthal got out of a two-on, one-out jam against the Brewers on Tuesday to preserve a one-run lead and earn his 16th save of the season.

Rosenthal allowed singles to Ryan Braun and Jonathan Lucroy to put runners on the corners with only one out, threatening to saddle him with his second blown save of the season. He got Aramis Ramirez to ground into a double play to end the game, though, to earn the save. Rosenthal has a 0.71 ERA and 1.07 WHIP through 25 1/3 innings in what has been the best season of his career to date.

Joey Gallo homered and finished 3-for-4 with four RBI in the Rangers' 15-2 trouncing of the White Sox on Tuesday.

Making his much-anticipated debut, Gallo didn't disappoint. After coming through with an two-run single in the first inning, Gallo displayed his prodigious power with a two-run home run in the third. He'll strike out a lot, but the 21-year-old also has exciting power that makes him fantasy relevant for however long he's in the majors.

Adam Eaton hit a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.

Eaton hit the homer, his third of the year, off Rangers starter Colby Lewis in the third inning. The homer was his only hit in four at-bats. It has been a struggle for Eaton this season, as he's hitting just .233/.289/.354 overall.

Shin-Soo Choo went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's lopsided win over the White Sox.

Choo hit a solo home run off White Sox starter Jeff Samardzija in the fourth inning, his eighth homer of the season. He later added an RBI single to give him 25 RBI on the year. A strong .295/.356/.533 line in May brought Choo's line to .246/.330/.447 on the season.

Denard Span (knee) is hoping to return to the lineup on Wednesday.

Span hasn't played since leaving Sunday's game with renewed discomfort in his right knee. He'll go through drills pre-game on Wednesday before it's decided whether he can give it a go.

Carlos Corporan finished 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Corporan didn't even start the game, but he entered after Robinson Chirinos left the game with a bruised hand. In Chirinos' stead, Corporan had a two-run single before blasting a three-run homer in the eighth. The homer was Corporan's second of the year to go with 10 RBI.

Jeff Samardzija was knocked around by the Rangers on Tuesday, allowing nine runs on 12 hits over five innings.

Samardzija served up two home runs among his 12 hits allowed. The loss was his first since April 29 after a month of May in which he went 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA. It hasn't been so pretty for the right-hander overall, as he's now 4-3 with a 4.68 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through 11 starts. He'll look to get back in the win column Sunday against the Tigers.
Jun 2 - 10:46 PM

Johnny Cueto got a no-decision in his return to the mound, giving up two runs (one earned) in six innings as the Reds lost 5-4 to the Phillies on Tuesday.

Cueto was making his first start since May 19 due to inflammation in his right elbow. He pitched well, allowing an unearned run in the second thanks to a Todd Frazier fielding error. He then relented a solo home run to Chase Utley in the sixth, one of the five hits he gave up on the evening along with no walks and four strikeouts. Cueto will head into his next start at home against the Padres with a 2.90 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and a 64/12 K/BB ratio in 71 1/3 innings.
