Austin Hedges singled and belted a three-run homer Tuesday in St. Louis.

Hedges' blast to left field in the seventh just cleared the wall and officially broke the game open. He's put up a lowly .219 average and .256 on-base percentage, but Hedges has been adequate enough for fantasy owners with his 16 longballs.

Yadier Molina reached base three times and blasted his 15th home run of the season Tuesday versus the Padres.

Molina walked in the second, doubled and scored in the fourth and bombed a game-tying homer in the sixth. The Padres' offense took over from there, and Yadi was pulled in favor of Carson Kelly at that point. He's certainly out of place as a No. 5 hitter, but Molina has had a fine offensive season for a catcher with a .282/.316/.446 line and 15 taters.

Stephen Piscotty reached base three times and smacked a solo homer in Tuesday's loss to the Padres.

Piscotty hit the second of back-to-back shot in the fourth inning, as he followed Jedd Gyorko's bomb with one of his own that tied the game at the time. He's started both games since his recall and has reached base six times. Piscotty will need to keep hitting in order to play over Randal Grichuk, but we'd rather have him out of the two down the stretch.

Doug Fister turned back the clock Tuesday, spinning a one-hit complete game in the Red Sox' 9-1 win over the Indians.

Fister entered the night with a 5.56 ERA on the season and was roughed up by the same Indians in his last start. He permitted 11 baserunners over just 4 1/3 frames in that outing last week but yielded only the one hit and a couple walks in an unexpected gem Tuesday, shutting down the Tribe's offense after Francisco Lindor led off the bottom of the first with a home run. It's Fister's first complete game in three seasons. Fister will take on the Orioles at Fenway on Sunday and it's hard to trust him as a fantasy option even after his beauty Tuesday.

Carlos Carrasco was popped for six runs over 6 2/3 frames in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

Carrasco struck out six and just walked one batter, but he gave up eight hits, including a home run. The eight base knocks are the second-most he’s permitted this season. Carrasco has now allowed 11 runs in two starts against the Red Sox this month in the only two times he’s faced them this season. He’ll try to get back on track on Sunday versus the Royals at home.

Christian Yelich had a three-run homer and a fourth RBI on a groundout as the Marlins topped the Phillies 7-4 to complete a doubleheader sweep Tuesday.

Yelich also went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI in the first game. He's batting .294 with six homers, 12 doubles and 24 RBI in 35 games during the second half of the season.

John Curtiss will be promoted to the major league level on Wednesday.

Curtiss, a sixth-round pick in 2014 out of the University of Texas, has dominated to the tune of a 1.28 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 12.4 K/9 in 49 1/3 innings of relief this season between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Rochester. The 24-year-old right-hander could be a nice bullpen weapon for the Twins down the stretch.

Xander Bogaerts singled twice and scored a run Tuesday in Cleveland.

Bogaerts is starting to right the ship after a brutal stretch, as he's reached base 15 times over his last eight games. Unfortunately, he's still not driving in many runs, with a mere four RBI since the All-Star break.
