Bronson Arroyo was lit up by the Mets for nine runs on 10 hits over 3 1/3 innings of a 9-0 loss on Tuesday.

He threw 64 batting practice pitches, basically. It's bad enough that GM Kevin Towers is already feeling buyer's remorse three starts into Arroyo's Arizona career without considering that the rest of the rotation has done their best pitching machine impersonations thus far as well. Arroyo now owns a 9.95 ERA, while the Snakes staff as a whole has posted a 7.71 ERA. This is why Arizona is 4-13 overall, and 1-10 at the launching pad known as Chase Field. This Diamondbacks squad is taking on water, and it'll be interesting to see how Towers decides to go about draining the hull. Either way, even against the Cubs, you want nothing to do with Arroyo even in an All-Bronson leagues next time out. Make him prove it first.

Astros designated RHP Lucas Harrell for assignment.

Harrell surprisingly cracked the Opening Day rotation, but he floundered with a 9.49 ERA over his first three starts. The Astros could move Jerome Williams in from the bullpen to take Harrell's rotation spot.

Astros optioned OF Robbie Grossman to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Grossman went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Tuesday, which was apparently the final straw as it dropped his batting line to .125/.236/.313. The Astros are calling up top prospect George Springer to take Grossman's spot on the roster. Grossman will get another shot later this summer.

Brett Lawrie hit a grand slam in the ninth inning to extend the lead, and the Blue Jays finished off the Twins 9-3 on Tuesday.

Lawrie's only hit of the game was a big one, as he sent a Jared Burton fastball deep into the Minnesota night to give the Jays some insurance runs. The homer was his third this season. Lawrie also had an RBI sacrifice fly earlier in the game, giving him five RBI total on the evening, and the five-RBI night was his first ever in the majors.

Trevor Plouffe hit his first home run of the year in the ninth inning of Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Plouffe is known mostly for his power, but he's managed to stay fantasy relevant through the early weeks of the season by posting a high batting average and exercising surprising plate discipline. Despite the homer being his first, Plouffe has slashed .314/.426/.451 with nine RBI thus far. The average will go down -- he's just a .243 career hitter -- but the homers should increase, keeping him on fantasy radars in deep mixed and AL-only leagues for another year.

Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Astros will promote top prospect George Springer from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Wednesday's game.

The report has been confirmed by various other outlets. Springer earned the promotion after a 3-for-4 effort Tuesday that included a grand slam. The young outfielder has hit .353 with three homers, nine RBI and four stolen bases in his first 13 contests for Oklahoma City. He figures to take over right field for the Astros and needs to be owned in all fantasy formats. Robbie Grossman has been optioned to Triple-A to make room for Springer.

Chris Colaballo continued his strong April on Tuesday, going 3-for-5 with an RBI in a loss to the Blue Jays.

Colabello leads the American League with 15 RBI after first inning RBI double. He's hitting .306/.346/.490 through the team's first 13 games after management basically tried to sell him for parts this winter. It remains to be seen how long he'll be able to continue at this pace, but he's worth riding until the wheel stops.

Burke Badenhop got the loss on Tuesday as the White Sox defeated the Red Sox 2-1 on a walk-off throwing error by Xander Bogaerts.

Badenhop wasn't sharp in the ninth inning, trying to keep a tie game intact. After allowing two singles (lead-off man Alejandro De Aza was caught stealing after his hit) and issuing another walk, Marcus Semien knocked a ball to Bogaerts, who made a low throw which couldn't be dug out by first baseman Mike Carp for the third out of the inning, allowing the White Sox to walk off as 2-1 winners. Badenhop hasn't been reliable in five appearances to start the season, allowing runs in each of his last four appearances.
