Joba Chamberlain (intercostal) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Saturday.

He tossed a bullpen session Monday without issue and will go through a similar workout Wednesday before facing live hitters. Chamberlain has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 23 with an intercostal muscle strain. He should be ready to return in early June if everything goes smoothly from here.
May 31 - 3:55 PM

Sergio Romo (elbow) did not make his scheduled appearance Monday at High-A San Jose.

Romo is still dealing with some fatigue from last week, per Giants general manager Bobby Evans. He was scheduled to pitch Monday and Tuesday in High-A ball before rejoining the Giants' bullpen on Thursday. It's not clear what the plan is now. Romo has been on the disabled list since mid-April with a flexor muscle strain.

Brian McCann is out of the Yankees' starting lineup Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

He's getting a day off with southpaw J.A. Happ on the hill for Toronto. Austin Romine will start behind the dish and catch CC Sabathia.
May 31 - 3:46 PM

Brett Gardner is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

He'll take a seat against left-hander J.A. Happ. Aaron Hicks will start in left field and bat ninth. Rob Refsnyder is hitting second and playing right field.
May 31 - 3:44 PM

David Wright (neck) is out of the Mets' lineup again on Tuesday.

Wright revealed Monday that he's dealing with a herniated disk in his neck, but the Mets have resisted placing him on the disabled list so far. It appears that Eric Campbell will be sent down to Triple-A to make room for James Loney on the active roster. Wilmer Flores is starting at third base Tuesday while Loney will make his Mets debut at first base.
May 31 - 3:43 PM

Alex Rodriguez is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

Carlos Beltran will get a second straight start out of the DH spot. Meanwhile, Rob Refsnyder will make the start in right field.
May 31 - 3:40 PM

Miguel Rojas (shoulder) took 30 swings off a tee on Tuesday.

Rojas left Monday's game against the Pirates with right shoulder irritation. He's going to try to play through the injury for now.
May 31 - 3:37 PM

Red Sox recalled OF Rusney Castillo from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Castillo will hold down a roster spot for a couple of days while Jackie Bradley, Jr. is away on paternity leave. He has struggled at the Triple-A level this year and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.
