Steelers LCB Ike Taylor (shoulder/forearm) is listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Bengals.

Taylor got in a limited practice every day this week, but with the secondary playing well over the last several games, the Steelers may choose to hold out the oft-burned corner. That would be bad news for A.J. Green after he burned Taylor for 136 yards and a touchdown Week 14.

Chargers signed C Jeff Baca off their practice squad.

Baca is taking the roster spot of P Mike Scifres, who was placed on injured reserve with a broken clavicle. Already on their fifth center, the Chargers will hope Baca is not needed Week 17 against the Chiefs.

Lions signed C Darren Keyton off their practice squad.

Keyton will take the roster spot of C Dominic Raiola, who was suspended one game for stomping on Bears DT Ego Ferguson. Rookie Travis Swanson will start at center for the Lions.

Browns signed QB Connor Shaw off their practice squad.

Shaw has taken all the first-team reps in practice this week and will start the Browns' Week 17 matchup with the Ravens. Cleveland also promoted DL Jamie Meder from the practice squad. LB Eric Martin and TE Ryan Taylor were waived in corresponding moves.

Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) may be able to return if the Lions are forced to play in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

A loss on Sunday would force the Lions to play a first-round game in Dallas. Fairley has ramped up his workout routine recently and could conceivably return to practice in time to face the Cowboys. The best case scenario for Detroit would be to win against the Packers, earn a first-round bye and get Fairley back for the Divisional Round.

Free agent WR Austin Pettis worked out for the Chargers on Wednesday.

Pettis has also worked out for the Seahawks and Panthers since being released by the Rams in October. With Keenan Allen sidelined for likely the rest of the season, the Chargers may give Pettis a look if they qualify for the postseason. Pettis had 107 catches and nine touchdowns across four seasons with the Rams.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Giants have yet to reach out with an offer to extend impending free-agent DE Jason Pierre-Paul.

The Giants are not expected to slap the franchise tag on Pierre-Paul, and it is becoming increasingly obvious the team will allow JPP to test his value on the open market. Pierre-Paul has come on strong with seven sacks over the past month, but inconsistent play and a checkered injury history may limit him to short-term, prove-it offers.

Pro Football Talk reports Bears GM Phil Emery and team president Ted Phillips are also on the chopping block.

After a disastrous season, it seems the Bears are ready to completely clean house. Coach Marc Trestman already has one foot out the door, Emery's position appears perilous at best and Phillips could get the axe despite being with the team for almost 16 years. Ironically, the one person who may survive is Jay Cutler because his Emery-negotiated contract makes him a headache to trade.
